I love Nick he is tough, committed & has footy smarts. Great Rookie draft pick up & will play 200 games!

I was wondering if we could play him in the forward line this year, as we have a few 3rd tall defensive options (obrien, wakelin, Clement, Brown). I think we hardness in our forward line, someone to fight & keep the ball in, like Betheras used to do.

With Rocca, Cloke, Buckley & Maxwell in that forward line we start to look a bit tougher.

Just think its a good idea!

I don't think he has the burst speed on the lead to play as a forward option. If he can sneak forward and get a mark, he can kick a goal or two, but I don't think he could consistently be effective lining up as a forward.

No, bad memories of Jason Cloke still burn

Perhaps, as a pinch-hitter, but I don't want to see him in the forward-line for longer than 20 mins each week. He was drafted as a defender and nothing has changed between now and then. I don't think Malthouse knows how to manage his players in that respect, he likes to chop and change players (in different positions) where they may have never been acquainted to in their younger days, and most experiments never seem to pay-off, which doesn't fill your heart with confidence.

Don't want to stuff Around with him Like the Idiot MM Did with J Cloke!

I am just a little concerned with our forwardline. We might need to stick Fraser in there full-time

I don't know and that half the problem with our list. The coach rarely tries anything and when he does, if it doesn't work, he has to try and prove he was right until it kills. We should know whether a lot more of our players have any real versatility.

We should know whether a lot more of our players have any real versatility.

James Clement is a classic example. An AA defender who could possibly extend his career by a number of years by playing at full forward, much like Alistair Lynch did when he changed ends. But we'll probably never see it happen, not even as a pre-season experiment.

I'm excited about the potential versatility of O'Brien, Maxwell, Reid, Brown and even T Cloke. But I doubt they'll get tested too often at both ends they'l get pigeon-holed early. MM simply is not interested in developing an Adam Hunter.

He's a very very good defender but that's about it. However, he's decisively quick over 20 metres and can take a nice contested mark, so perhaps we've missed the boat on this occasion.

Did he play in the forward line at Fremantle?

Clement was there full forward kicked five or six against Essendon at Waverly of i remeber right but he publicly said he prefers the back line to the forward line as that is where he believes he plays his best football, and i dont think you can disagree with him

I would like to see him at full fwd in the coming weeks and rusling in defence!

We have seen over his 40 odd game career his value as a defender, but also he has proven that he can go forward and chip in with a goal.

From what we saw on Friday, he is even more comitted to be the best defensive defender in the game. He oozes courage, is tough as nails, and his smarts and timing is essential to have as a backmen.

I don't think he is a forward option. Definately, if need be, he is more than capable as a pinch hitter, like a Lewis Roberts-Thomson (not Ted Richards) at Sydney, where he can be a focul point if needed and be successful.

Kicked two consecutive 5-goal hauls in the late 90's for the Dockers. With the ability he has to read the play and also stay with his opponent on a lead, he could be a very hard match up in the forward line late in his career if needed.
