If the Swans get up over North and GWS gets rolled by the Tiggers--very possible outcomes--then we are one game and about 18% points out of the 8 at the end of this round. Belt Brisbane for % hopefully, although they beat the Hawks today, so they may not be the easy beats they've been earlier in the season.
Anyway, get excited. :shoutyoldman:

To win the flag, which is the ultimate goal rather than just make finals, we'd have to win all remaining minor and major round matches for the rest of the year (maybe drop 1 minor round).
I always like to see us win, but excuse me for not getting too excited yet.

We have the worst defense out of our competition for the 8 so we will struggle to make up the %

So we’ll need to be a game clear of 9th

Ideally

“Away” elimination final against Geelong at the G
Away qualifying final against Sydney
Away Prelim final showdown
Smash Richmond in the GF

About as much chance as Sturt being up by 4 goals at 3/4 time and losing by 9 goals.

We won’t make up the % but every game is winnable. We got a pretty good run considering the good sides we play at home. The GWS game is away for both sides.

But just take it one game at a time. This week won’t be a walk in the park.

The only game which we aren’t either favorites or it’s a toss of the coin is GWS away

Just need to maintain our consistency
I think Brisbane are going to be extremely tough, this isn’t a shit Brisbane and they are full of confidence

Brisbane away - should win if we play well.
Melbourne at home - Gov back. Win?
Showdown. 50/50
GWS in Canberra. Tough but winnable if we’ve won the previous 3 (confidence)
North home. Should win in form.
Carlton away. Percentage booster.

Win 5/6 required. I’ve got us down for minimum 3 wins (Carlton, Brisbane and North).
Need to win 2 of the rest making Melbourne home vital.

Win that and it comes down to the Showdown and GWS games.

Reckon if we are close to our best side for the year, we will win the Showdown. Our best side is better than Port’s best side.

Next week will be the key. Beat Brisbane and we are on our way.

Melbourne have @ tough draw after tonight’s game. If they drop today, they won’t make the 8.

Think we will need to win all 6. Already teams in 6-9 have 10 wins. GWS with 9 and a draw. I think all of these teams have at least 3 wins in them to get up to 13. We won’t make up the % so we will need to get to 14.

Can’t drop any.

Edit: sorry teams 6-9 have 9 wins, still think we will need to win all 6

They’ve won 3 in a row o_O

Against Freo (Sandilands and Fyfe went down), Carlton (who are deplorable) and Hawks (have intel with Hodge).

It won’t be easy but play at or near our best and we will win.

Brisbane is not a defensive side so we can exploit as they are the type of sides we like to play.
