I'd love to see Brown get it because he is a consistant performer, week in week out.......

.... however, from the list you have provided, Richo would be a HUGE favorite. Has put his Heart and Soul into the club, and even though he may not have been the idealistic of leaders in the past (i.e Dummy Spits and bagging of Team-mates), he is widely respected at the club and by the supporters.

I'd almost say he is a certainty.

I think with cogs he is a bit young and he has a few off field issues like the little controvesory this year with TY zantuck. I rekon all cogs needs to do is concentrate on getting back to his 2003 form. I hope to god this is not another ottens case. Great year 2001, then never produced the same again.

I can almost guarantee you that Brown wont be captain next year, he needs to have been at the club for more then 1 year to even be considered for it IMO

His sources are 100% reliable as to who the four players are, he never expressed that he knew the exact reasons for why certain players are there and others are not. I think only Terry Wallace would know that and i have my doubts as to whether Wallace is masquerading on Bigfooty under the alias 'Nbrown7'.

Totally agreed.

That is what leads me to believe Richo is a hot favorite. Brown is almost out of calculations, merely based on the fact that he has only had 1 season at the club.

Johnson could almost be written-off on the same basis as Brown, however i have heard on a number of occasions that TW was 'extremely' impressed with Kane when the club was chasing him.

That leaves Bowden and Richo, and i think Richo would make a more fitting Captain. Has the ability to lift the team single-handedly, and might finally 'mature ;) ' with the added responsibility.

Then when Richo hangs up the boots, Cogs can take the reigns.....

you make a good point giving richo the captaincy, might allow us to see him fully mature into the player he could have been for so long

Richo is a great player but he was a terrible captain when he filled in for Campbell. He would be the worst choice.

Johnson is a great clubman who loves the club and seems to have the right personality for the job. Unfortunately he is not an inspirational player who will spur on his team mates through his performances.

Bowden seems a laconic kind of guy who had a great year last year. I am not sure if he would be able to inspire his team mates though

Brown would be the most inspirational player on our list and he doesn't give in when the chips are down. He has only been at the club for a year but that may actually be a positive under the circumstances. He would get my vote.

Seriously, nobody was a worse Captain than Campbell. He was shocking. Richo has so many more attributes of a leader. He can single handedly life the side with his athleticism, and i think would grow even more if given the captaincy.

Johnson hasn't been at the club long enough. That would be my only flaw on this guy. Has some leadership skills that are great, and his hardness at the ball is also fantastic. Still think he would be an unlikely candidate at this stage.

Bowden doesn't seem to be leadership material to me. No doubting that he had a fantastic year this year, but imagine he gets the captaincy and then starts to play the uninspiring football he played for so many seasons?? Supporters would be the first to get on his back. Definetly a pressure Joel does not require. Like they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it. He played well this year, lets leave him be

Brown is a highly unlikely candidate. This doesn't mean i don't think he is best suited to the position. He is by far the best bloke of the 4 mentioned to take on the job, but i think the club will want to go with a player who has been there a bit longer. That is what leads me to believe it would be out of Richo and Bowden.

Cambo was not the leagues best captain but he was indeed a great player and a decent captain. By no means 'shocking'. Richo has a plethora a very poor attritubes whch would be detrimental to the club if he was skipper.

Jono is very loyal, loves the club and a life long Tiger man. He is consitantly our best player is a poor side. Id give it to him for 2 years untill Cogs steps up.

I dont want Brown to get it. Bowden would be iffy, Johnson the no. 1 choice.

Brown - most skilled player but doesnt seem like a captain

Bowden - We are not so desperate that we give it to a guy after one good year. Not going to get excited over a B&F in the team we had this year.

Richo - Just doesnt fit it. Love the bloke but he just doesnt seem to have the composure.

Coughlan - DOESNT WANT IT!! Wants to play some consistent years on end. Seems genuinely embarassed that he is being suggested. let him be the player he can be

Gaspar - FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK OFF

Johnson - Probably best choice but lets face it, its a pretty sparse field isnt it??

has to be johnson i reckon. richo would be the worlds worst captain. love the guy but a captain he is not. brown too iffy, bowden could be the smokey, he has been consistent for a number of years just didnt live to his potential until this one. but i dont reckon you would give it to him, he was lazy until this year. cogs coming off a bad year with injury and he is very young. must be sugar kane.

I'd give it to Stafford, could have a "primus like' influence on the team. He is smart, well spoken and a tough bastard on the ground. Good chance to groom Cogs, Brown, Boeden and Johnson as VCs. They are all likely to get a go as Staffird would miss half the season through injury and suspension.

then really..... whats the point of him being captain? richo should never go near captaincy...... cogs needs to get back on track for the upcomming season.... no point dumping the load on him right now.... brown doesnt seem to want to go for captaincy..... puts more effort into his own performance rather than motivating a team. bowden and sugar seem to be the most desperate for the job (besides richo) ..... but it doesnt take one season to become captain....... so i recks it is left to sugar as captain! he is quiet during training drills but im sure he will be the best role model out there for the time being!

I was speaking my personal opinion about Cogs as captain.
I know he wont be next year. That is 100% correct

As others have said no real standout candidate that says 'pick me'. Johnson is the one that standouts for me consistent performer and seems to have the respect of teamates.

C - Johnson
VC's - Bowden, Coughlan (if he wants it) and maybe one other but not sure who.

agreed! preferably bowden.... cogs needs to not have any leadership role until he gets his own performance back on track imo.

Why Bowden?

Wasnt he dropped last year? I only recall a good 2nd half to the season...

IF he is named captain and returns to his old form it will be a very long year .

C - Suger Kane
Vc - Cogs.
