I can almost guarantee you that Brown wont be captain next year, he needs to have been at the club for more then 1 year to even be considered for it IMOCaptain_Brown_7 said:I'd love to see Brown get it because he is a consistant performer, week in week out.......

Tigerrific said:Richo is a great player but he was a terrible captain when he filled in for Campbell. He would be the worst choice.
Tigerrific said:Johnson is a great clubman who loves the club and seems to have the right personality for the job. Unfortunately he is not an inspirational player who will spur on his team mates through his performances.
Tigerrific said:Bowden seems a laconic kind of guy who had a great year last year. I am not sure if he would be able to inspire his team mates though
Tigerrific said:Brown would be the most inspirational player on our list and he doesn't give in when the chips are down. He has only been at the club for a year but that may actually be a positive under the circumstances. He would get my vote.
Captain_Brown_7 said:Seriously, nobody was a worse Captain than Campbell. He was shocking.

Captain_Brown_7 said:Seriously, nobody was a worse Captain than Campbell. He was shocking. Richo has so many more attributes of a leader. He can single handedly life the side with his athleticism, and i think would grow even more if given the captaincy.
Johnson hasn't been at the club long enough. That would be my only flaw on this guy. Has some leadership skills that are great, and his hardness at the ball is also fantastic. Still think he would be an unlikely candidate at this stage.
Bowden doesn't seem to be leadership material to me. No doubting that he had a fantastic year this year, but imagine he gets the captaincy and then starts to play the uninspiring football he played for so many seasons?? Supporters would be the first to get on his back. Definetly a pressure Joel does not require. Like they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it. He played well this year, lets leave him be
Brown is a highly unlikely candidate. This doesn't mean i don't think he is best suited to the position. He is by far the best bloke of the 4 mentioned to take on the job, but i think the club will want to go with a player who has been there a bit longer. That is what leads me to believe it would be out of Richo and Bowden.

kretchy said:As others have said no real standout candidate that says 'pick me'. Johnson is the one that standouts for me consistent performer and seems to have the respect of teamates.
C - Johnson
VC's - Bowden, Coughlan (if he wants it) and maybe one other but not sure who.
Tambo!!!! said:agreed! preferably bowden.... cogs needs to not have any leadership role until he gets his own performance back on track imo.
