Brown is a highly unlikely candidate. This doesn't mean i don't think he is best suited to the position. He is by far the best bloke of the 4 mentioned to take on the job, but i think the club will want to go with a player who has been there a bit longer. That is what leads me to believe it would be out of Richo and Bowden.

Another factor is that appointing Brown might be seen as favouritism on the part of Wallace. Also Brown with his pubs, fashion labels and media presence might be open to the same charge Crawford is (a distraction to the club). If we struggle the captain will be under scrutiny and someone like Johnson without 'baggage' might be a bit more immune from criticim than Richo, Bowden or Brown.

Those 4 would all serve the club well however I feel Brown or Johnson would be the best option.

Off-field Brown and Richo would be the best two from a PR and marketing perspective, Johnson has never really done too much publicity work on TV, Radio, etc.

Bowden's form is too patchy for the captaincy I feel.

patchy how you figure the man just won a best and fairest after being booted to the reserves, his attitude has completley changed and would have to be a leading candidate

OMG how can anyone seriously put Brown up as a possible captain.

Great player, but not a leader.

No one has mentioned Tim Flemming as a replacement for Cambo....

hahahaha! That would be great to see Flemming as captain. You'd know for sure that he'd get all the players fired up, judging by his aggressivness on the field which he can take a bit too far. But i like it!!

Fleming isnt a Richmond player any more.

Brown actully is has good leadership abilties. He reves the players up etc. Go to training and watch.
