Coach Carlton and Michael Voss - where to now

Is that true? How do they go from a guy who stood down because an inappropriate picture was shared on his socials to now having a president who publicly identifies the club as a 'business'? I find it really hard to believe there isn't a passionate Carlton fan out there who has the skills to be a competent club president and views it as what it is - a football club.

A fish rots from the head.
Mike Fitzpatrick was going to do it but the board member who contacted him got sacked by the board

I think he knows its over. Just a matter of when they'll announce it.
I know some people get a kick out of it, but I really don't like seeing coaches in that "dead man walking" stage with cameras fixated on them. I loved watching Vossy play and genuinely wanted him to succeed as a head coach. It just hasn't worked out. He needs to be put out of his misery.

My prediction is Hansen will take the reins in 3 weeks time

You can tell he actually cares as well, probably why he's looking so out of it.

His method of treating the problem is obsolete, but he's trying his guts out the only way he knows how.

Feel for the bloke really. One of my favourites growing up too.

It all reminds of superstar hardnut aggressively minded players turn coaches like , Barassi , Mathews who fundamentally hate weak half hearted efforts at the ball by their players and eventually lose control and have regular rage a thons screaming at the group.

Calmer minded coaches like Jeans and Sheedy would just simply weed out the weak players and drop them and get them out of the squad entirely.

Tumultuous off-season? Did I miss something?

In all seriousness..Carlton are in the same position as we were with Rutton where a coach has lost all direction with the game day instructions and the players are just running around loose with no confidence or structure.

There’s no shame in sacking him and starting the process early to find a new coach while letting the players/ the squad find some form and sort it out for themselves.

Cripps as captain will have to dig deep and lead the squad. That is if he still has the passion to play and the desire for winning.

There was a stench about Carlton tonight. Ten goals down at 3QT.

He’s done. Sooner they rip the bandaid off, sooner they can start to move on.
Absolutely, it was dispiriting last night against pies.
I almost think they feel they felt sorry for the blues, and eased up.

It had a element of finality, in that it confirmed things need to change at Carlton

What could they realistically get in trades?

Would Essendon give a top 10 pick for Harry?

What would the Swans pay for Charlie? Ollie Florent is a player that would suit Carlton. Does Florent and a 1st get it done, given Charlie's form?

If the Eagles get pick 2 for Oscar, could you flip that for Cripps? Would you want to?

Could you get a bidding war going for Walsh/Cerra?

Would teams offer anything for Williams/Saad/Gov?

Feel like you have to keep Voss if you plan on getting the list. No point getting a new coach in when he might want be able to get more out of this squad for 2-3 years before the arse falls out completely.

Before the arse falls out in 2-3 years...

Half the names you mentioned are 28 or younger 😂

So basically, they're screwed...

Vossy will be alright. Good communicator. He could get a gig in media again or go to a club in a midfielder coaching role, just not senior, he’s not cut out for it.

As for Carlton. Well… hard to say, I mean, other than down and then down some more hahahahaha.

There is a Carlton staff member always around the bench area who looks a lot like Voss except he's thinner, more pale, same haircut but his face is hollowed out skeleton style. I've noticed the TV cameras will zoom on him a lot after another Carlton blunder and it always creates a moment of wow this team is physically killing Vossy until I realise it's different person

That’s funny, I used to think the same about Jurgen Klopp when managing Liverpool. Turns out it was one of the fitness coaches. Finally they caught a shot of them together
