the w:l percentage has dropped each season he's been here (54.6%, 42.2% & 36.4%).

the game style is not suited to the players. there's effectively zero match day coaching, aside from 'too little, too late' moves like trying to swing Weiters forward at the end after the game has already been lost, realising an opposition midfielder is cutting us to pieces and maybe moving Ed to them in the second half or that our structure is being torn to shreds and doing anything about it.

I wouldn't be giving him much credit for the development of Walsh, Weitering and McKay. Not to mention we rarely help them out with the way we structure, move the ball, or just support them in general.

Selection has been pretty piss poor. That goes for 'picking players for structure', picking players who are underdone, minimal development opportunities for up & comers while some 'senior favourites' appear to get away with whatever they want.

Everyone has been affected by covid. Everyone has had injuries. He chose to keep the assistants.

Love how they now try & change the narrative because "big bad Carlton" aren't giving them what they want in the media. Now all of a sudden it's poor Teaguey he's been hard done by etc etc. Here's an idea Tom Morris/Tom Browne/Jon Ralph/any other "journo" reading this... how about just report the facts of any story instead of using "clickbait". Like Denzell Washington said - doesn't matter if you're right or the story's true - now it's just about being "first" regardless of facts

What evidence was there to suggest that?

ok Im not ITK, but with the soft cap reductions there would be no $ option to coax better assistants to Carlton nor was there certainty (at that time) that the soft cap would not be reduced further.

I noticed that with the 6-6-6 structure Cripps has been, shall we say, less effective.
Yes everyone has been affected by Covid, Not everyone has had the same amount of injuries to best 22 players, His W/L % over 50 games is 42% (21W 29L).

They keep mentioning Covid without mentioning that every other team has had to deal with the same thing and some have thrived.

Making excuses for a coach who was clearly out of his depth. The fault rests 100% with the useless Board who were too lazy to conduct a search for an experienced coach. Clearly, Judd had someone in mind when he said no training wheels, but it looks as though he was overridden by the Board, who would not know what an Aussie rule football looks like.

After what Pickering said about Cripps (which must have come from Teague) you cannot see how Teague could even be considered as the coach moving on.

Carlton’s pursuit of Leppitsch comes as senior club figures have raised concerns around the team’s coaching panel heading into 2022.

The same concerns were voiced at the end of last season, but the club opted to remain with the same assistants for another season at the request of Teague.

I'd be shocked if McClure made it up, he does get info from the Club, and that would be a strange thing for him to make up.

Which is not to mean that it's necessarily true, it could have been someone at the Club throwing Teague under the bus?

The other thing is, Covid did not make paying out contracts impossible.
There was a soft-cap amnesty in paying out contracts, and we paid off our historical debt earlier than forecast.

I don't think it's a hugely damaging admission or anything, so it would be strange for a journo to make that up.

Teague often refers to the coaches as a collective so I think he gets along with these guys. It's not hard to imagine that be didn't want to see any of them out of a job.
