Nick Duigan
No. Go back a bit and you will see quotes from M.M. showing that it was Andrew Carrazzo. Malthouses concern was that he was often injured though.

From memory Duigan and malthouse didn't see eye to eye. Nick was going to leave after Mick's first season but stayed on only after he got a very late call up in the 2013 elimination final and kicked 4. Also from memory he didn't play too many games after that.

I'd really like to know who the player that wasn't getting regular games that Malthouse thought should be Captain was.

Yeah, pretty sure it was Nick duigan.

I could see why at the time given he seemed to have the leadership stuff going on. But he stopped being consistent after his third season.

Who the fu** calls their kid Thom ... FFS ...

The type of people who will inadvertently send their son to years of therapy after naming him Mike when the family name is Hunt.

Listening to the Marc Murphy interview on AFL.com and shocked that the closest he came to leaving was to Richmond end of 2015.

I wonder what they would have given us at the time and how that may have impacted their flags in 2017 onwards

And what impact would Murphy leaving have had on our young players just as Bolton was starting

Murphy re-signed for 4 years during his last year in 2014, so perhaps that would have been end of 2014. Cost would have been at least a 1st rounder back then.

Murphy leaving would have allowed us to play more kids, so I don't think it would have had a detriment effect on our rebuild

No it was definitely 2015 - he said it was same time as Yarran was traded to Tigers. I think 2014 was when Geelong inquired from memory but the new information is the closest he says he got to leaving was for Tigers end of 2015 and then when tigers had a bad year in 2016 he thought that was a good decision but then of course they won in 2017.

Richmond had pick 12 in 2015 - we traded picks 20 and 21 to the Bulldogs for Pick 11 which we used on Charlie. Had we had the Tigers pick for Murphy I imagine we would have held on to 20 and 21 which the Bulldogs ended up using on Dunkley and Keiran Collins. I don’t know if SOS would have taken Dunkley given he chose Cuningham ahead of Dunkley but then that draft didn’t have too many hits after pick 25 so maybe SOS would have still done the 20+21 trade - and interestingly Kennedy went right after Charlie so maybe we would have picked up Kennedy (though the Giants will likely have matched). The talent at the top of that draft was impressive but it really did fall away by the second round. Meanwhile Richmond used that pick 12 on Rioli.
