Well you would have been wrong.

1. Whitnall is our most important player.
2. We are already short a good tall and will probably lose SOS.

Croad would be a good pick-up but for midfielders, not talls.

That might be so, I don't agree, but Whitnall to me is pretty much untradeable. He's a father-son player, leader of the forward line etc etc. And he's only 21.

It's not just him as a footballer but the cultural damage it would do to the club. It would be like trading SOS 10 years ago.

I agree with you. Whitnall is a lot smarter than Croad, and that's probably the only reason I would take Whitnall ahead of him.

Sorry WCE2000, but Croad doesn't go near Whitnall. As you can see from the stats sectopm from these profiles, Croad doesn't get the ball as much as Whitnall, taking far less marks.

And when he has the ball, Croad completely lacks a football brain and this can lead to him choosing the wrong option. Whitnall hardly ever chooses the wrong option. Sometimes he might not find the option, but his choice is almost always the right one.

I'm not much of a rap for getting Tarrant if Fevola is still there. Too similar in style and probably attitude. We would want to make sure that Tarrant was happy to come over. Conversely, if Houlihan doesn't want to be with us or his father is too big an influence, we are better off getting something for him before he damages his reputation any further. I'm happy to give him another year to show his loyalty but we only want players that are 100% committed to the Blues. Also, I would like to see him develop some defensive skills next year.

Porter and Backwell for Croad or Allan for Croad (?) or Porter/Allan and Franchina/Houlihan for Jonathan Hay.

Remembering Blues fans, there is not much between Allan and Porter as they are of differing styles but we are wasting space having them in the same side as backups. We must make sure we have a good ruck prospect coming through the ranks though.

No way anyone would do any of those trades, I mean Hitman didnt accept West for Croad so why would he take Allan.
