I know but his Dad was a one eye Pie supporter. Mum is Navy Blue. That is the side with the brains ;)

Whole family is now Navy Blue including his Dad. :thumbsu:
Ok, you can remove the shame stain then. It is like your family be covered in holy water now to hear that.

I played footy with his dad and he was the most passionate and one eyed pies supporter. Can’t imagine him being Navy Blue through and through.. surely deep down he is hoping he gets traded to Pies

We've added Fasolo, McGovern and Newman at the same time we've lost or let go of Wright, Byrne, ASilvagni, Rowe, Kerridge, Graham.....etc.
Yes, the rebuild does have the right flavour about it, although we missed on that senior mid we wanted this year. That happens.

Next year should be the year we put the right cherries on top. We did well this year, but just didn't hit every target, although it wouldn't have made that much difference in the long run. I feel we now have everything in place that will tell us who is in and who will be out next year.

2019 really will be the big year for us...........I think.

The Autopsy threads are going to be as boring as batshit this year.

Without Rowe, Lamb, Kerridge and Graham to denigrate there will be hundreds of posters not quite sure what to do......

Where there's a will (to whine), there's always a way...

No need to worry about that, others will take over as club whipping boys, especially around here

He was. As he says family over club and he is now fully invested in the Blues and hopes Lachie will be a one club player and for a decade at least

I’ve got Polson and Lang in my sights

It's a real pleasure chatting to all in here, whether we agree or disagree.

Just the way it should be. Thanks. :thumbsu:

Well put Harks.

This board in the main is well worth the read - thanks to posters and Mods.

Some other boards are like watching a bunch of wild pigs all trying to shit on one another.

Good thing that this thread largely sticks on topic and I like that there's push and shove without overt bullying.

It'll be McKay not laying enough tackles, Cripps failing to register a single intercept mark, and Plowman being held goalless by Dustin Martin.

Suns place high price on AFL draft bounty

Carlton haven't ruled out parting with the No.1 pick, with Geelong Falcons star midfielder Sam Walsh widely tipped to be the first player taken.

Cameron is guarded about his club's intentions, but said the likely price tag of two of the Suns' early picks in return for No.1 would be too steep to consider.

Words straight from the Gold Coast Suns list manager.

Craig Cameron is not an idiot, he has 3 top 6 picks in a strong draft. I expect him to neither move up nor move down.

Welcome to the Carlton Football club Sam Walsh.

P.S. I expect Adelaide Crows will fail at moving up the draft order, they will try and try, and I expect they will fail.

So you are saying no movement of picks in the 1st round?

"The Blues have long been thought to have earmarked midfielder Sam Walsh as their first selection. That certainty drifted in recent weeks with dynamic South Australian forward Izak Rankine being touted as a serious option."

Nothing drifted.

Due diligence. Luko and Rozee were here for horse races and also visited other clubs.

SOS is wanting a Godfather offer, bringing in Tom Browne was all an elaborate ruse to whip up other clubs into doing stupid deals.

So Carlton wants 3 and 6.
Gold Coast say 3 and 6 is too steep.

That doesn't necessarily mean a deal won't get done.

Other clubs could (and would probably like to) get involved. And future pick swaps would be a consideration.

You may be right, that it's all just a bit too muddled this year and neither we nor GC are in a position to make a contentious move that could backfire spectacularly. But if they like Walsh, and we like someone else just as much, maybe we could work with GC to fleece the SA clubs to both our benefit. There's a tasty thought :)

@Blue__Balls,

Anything is possible, and SOS is literally begging for a deal. But I just don't see it happening. GC need to use all 3 picks since they are starting the club over again.

Craig Cameron appears to have told the SA clubs, via that article, that the Suns are no pushover. Crows don't have enough chocolates to get a deal done.

I expect a great big fizzle on draft night, top 8 stays put.

If I am wrong I will come here and apologise to the whole football world.

Peace.

People say that this draft is better than that one and so on....
Who cares? It's not as though you're going to get the first ten players. You get one pick....that's it. :)

There are some good players at the top end of this draft and last years draft was deemed to be relatively poor, yet I wouldn't be the least bit surprised should Dow, Cerra and Brayshaw all become better players than Smith.

Seems to me that 3 players drove the excitement for this draft from a long way out; Max King, Lulosius & Rankine.
People were saying you don't sell next years picks at any cost. That hasn't exactly shown up to be the case looking at this draft as a whole..

It's a long way out but I'd really like to see next years first used for a key player and not another 18 year old. We'll see.

You'd have nothing to apologise for, though.
Your logic is sound and it's easy for us here to push numbers around, but when the crunch comes, people/clubs can get cold feet.

This is a big ticket game you're playing with the premium picks in what on surface is 'a highly anticipated draft'
