What I mean is in the longer term.
It may seem somewhat presumptuous, but I know Dow will be a star and I know Setterfield will be a regular, quality player for the CFC and if we do acquire Walsh I know he'll also be a star midfielder for us. I simply don't feel the same way about Petrevski-Seton right now and wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get the midfield minutes we expected him to....but if Im wrong? That would be terrific.
We all watch highlights, but when you watch the full impact an individual can have upon a game, it's somewhat more real.
This isn't a perfect game by Walsh by any means, but you can see the potential and work-rate here.
Will be nice to have a player, other than Cripps, capable of regularly getting his odd 30 possessions again...
I think SPS had a better first year than any of the young mids on our list, every mid with the exception of Murphy (was a gun from day 1) he was more inconsistent but had a few games where his impact was as good as any, the Collingwood game of course is the perfect example of a matchwinner.
Dow hasn't done anything close to that yet and SPS improved on that game with his GC game, his 2 way running improved week after week in the 2nd half of the year, he did look like he had gone backwards in the first half of the year though.
SPS is probably one of the most well rounded mids in terms to what he can bring to the table.
Clean hands, dual sided, can kick goals (needs to kick more), marks with his hands outstreched instead of on the chest, evasive, weights his kicks really well, tackles with intent and brings down people much bigger than himself (Dow has this as well), vision, can get the ball a bit I imagine being fit will help this alot.
I'd like to see SPS's running when his leg (calf I think) is good because he tackles really well and drops back a bit to help when he is having his better games.
I just want/hope AR is as good as everyone says he is so we can watch it play out next year
