i came across these two articles in the HUN over the last week or so, about carlton possibly getting more pokies machines to increase their revenue.
Article 1
Article 2
After reading the two articles I started to wonder if they had any other methods of generating cash for the club (besides sponsors, merchandise and membership). I know that there was a mortgage broking service called Premier Mortgage, however im not sure if they are still in operation. On of the guys on TC was working for them i believe, and he was expecting more than $500,000 to be delivered to the club per year. Is this still running, and if so how much is it generating for the club?
Also, not knowing how these pokies deals work, does all the money generated by the pokies machines go to the club, or is a percentage of it given elsewhere?
I also remember the a few years back there was an opportunity to get a share in a chain of hotels which required no money to be given by the club, but they would receive a certain percentage of the profit. Did that deal go through?
Finally, how are our numbers stacking up? Are we close to paying off the debt, how much debt is left, when does the club expect to pay it off? Is the club looking for any other methods to increase its cash flow?
