I wouldn't say she's the worst but she'd be right up there with the worst of them.

Swifty_446 - Surprisingly there are some talented "idols" such as Will Young and Kelly Clarkson. I can't really see any of the others having long lasting careers though.
 
I think the Australian Idol promoters have unofficially made Callea the idol winner. Donovan is not exactly the image they want to promote. The reason she won is probably because she is of the demographic and (not trying to be rude here) size of the majority of people who watch the show.
 
This year's crop is worse. Car crash worse!

There's a reason these kids don't get picked up before this comp. No Aguilera-types slip past the radar unnoticed by record companies, whether they be fat, thin or average!

The reason she won was all to do with almighty $$$$.

Callea was always going to be more popular. If Donovan hadn't of won idol, she wouldn't have sold half as many albums as Callea has done as a solo artist. Therefore by giving her the 'title' of Australian Idol, Sony BMG could make profits off Donovans winning single, whilst also collecting bucket loads from Callea.

Had it been the other way around, they wouldn't have profited nowhere near as much.

Im no Idol watcher, but on your point I couldnt help but wonder if they hold the 'Aguilera-types' aside from the entire popularity contest that Idol is.

Would make sense too.

im gonna cut her some slack. she can sing. but not idol ********. jesus she should have been booted off after her faux pas with 'elenor rigby'.

she is not singing what she is comfortable or good at singing. and that was never going to be the case. my concern is that a vocalist who has potential given the right material, has been cast off like chaff in the big money making machine that is australian idol.

a lot of people are going to slag her because shes obese. but i believe she can sing. and mabe not now, but providing she dont have a mama cass style hearty in the meanwhile, she will prove she has the goods. unfortunately, shes stacked it on even more since idol, so im not holding out hope.

At least with Casey it was theoretically possible she could lose weight whereas with Callea there is no way he can change his dwarf appearance, except getting higher stools to sit on when he sings.

Does anyone else reckon, in both Idols Australia has had, the runners up were the better singers??
 
This Harding **************** has to be close. I hope he wins, because that will surely be the end of Oz Idol. There is no-one left that can possibly sustain a successful career, so I just hope that the least talented prick face that Harding is wins it. Out of this group, there is nbobody that can sustain a career. Whoever wins will have a number 1 single, (derrrrrr) , but they're not interesting or talented enough to make a career.
FWIW I reckon Kate is the best of whats left, but wouldn't blow wind up the arse of whoever came 12th in Idol 1.
