The biggest obstacle is getting up in only 6 days after that win. If they are going to take care of us they’ve probably got us at a good time.
Yeah it'll be tough to get up on a short break after that game but I do not rate the blues much of a chance regardless.

The one that will be really hard is Collingwood after consecutive 6 day breaks. That will bite

As usual, the team board of the opposition we defeated is relatively realistic and honest. Weren't good enough, missed some crucial plays, a great Cats team capitalized on our mistakes, etc.

But a few other "neutral" boards (one in particular) going absolutely off their trolley with hate and insanity.
It's the Gold Coast board, isn't it?

I thought he looked absolutely knackered at 3 quarter time this evening C09; personally I was somewhat surprised Scott and co didn't throw Blicavs into the ruck in the last quarter.

But what do I know? Stanley rallied and Blicavs did well in his role.

It's a good question though; how much does he have in the tank?

I'll back the club in to manage him appropriately; De Konning the Tom next week will be a decent challenge for any of our nominated rucks though.

This was our 4th quarter CBA & ruck contest stats

Stanley clearly still had the most, but the coaches may have picked up on the same things you did as those 13 ruck contests for Blicavs are the only 13 ruck contests he had for the match

I've definitely noticed Neale taking more ruck contests around the ground over recent weeks and think will see that continue while Rhys is rucking

Both Tom DK & Darcy Cameron are going to be formidable rucks to come to against - ideally you have a top line ruck to come up against both, but if that's not necessarily going to happen, I'd prioritise Stanley for the match which is likely to present the bigger challenge in Collingwood

I'm not suggesting Carlton will be easy, but it's a game we should go in as favorites

We played with a very settled midfield core today

Dangerfield's solitary CBA came in the first

Good to see the trust shown in the next gen group, including in the last when the game was tight

I wonder if that's the lowest weighted average age for cbas Geelong have had in a while

The only thing working in Stanley's favour is that we have 3 other rucks on the field. Blitz/SDK/Neale can all run a rotation to keep him fresh

Except he misses the ball by a foot, completely misses the arms, chest and shoulders, and hits Miers across the lower face with an almost perfectly horizontal and stereotypical clothesline action.

Because it's lazy and he comes in at the wrong angle and miers drops his body height slightly and he doesn't adjust. It's most definitely not intentional the way the way it will get portrayed. But in the current game that's irrelevant if you hit the head like that you're gone so it will be a long suspension and rightly so.

Just home from the game. Heart rate shot up to 72 in that last quarter. Deserved the win despite losing many key stats.
Many players were superb-
-Humphries, ZGuthrie again,Blicavs, Holmes, Danger, Smith, Mannagh, Atkins, Neale, Stanley, Miers, DeK, Stengle- started getting his mojo back.
Miers will be sorely missed against the 2 C's at the G.
2 x 6 day turnarounds after an 11 day break- bizarre scheduling.
Neale is close to having a 4 quarter breakout game I feel.

Nah i actually don't mind Impey. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned with Ballantyne
In the contest just before the incident Impey came in with the stops out and, after ball went out, gave Smith an unnecessary bump to go on with. He just responded to a degree of provocation I’d say. Not Ballantyne level from Jarman but still p*ss poor…

Nice post cats_09 - backing up opinion with facts as always.

As for Carlton, we're 2-2 against them since 2022 and I reckon we were lucky it wasn't 3-1. They'll be tough.

Darcy Cameron is one player I've always thought a little underrated, he's resourceful.

I can't wholeheartedly agree with the first two sentences, but do so with the third.
