Geelong star trio Joel Selwood, Gary Ablett and Paul Chapman have been nominated for the AFL Player’s Association most valuable player awards.

For Ablett, the nomination gives him a chance to win his fourth consecutive Leigh Matthews Trophy for most valuable player.
Selwood has again been nominated for the club’s most courageous player, and will be hoping to take out the title for the second consecutive year.
Youngster Mitch Duncan has been nominated as the club’s best first-year player.

Anyone know why Pods wasn't eligible for best 1st year player? Did his previous stints on the rookie lists at Essendon and Collingwood rule him out?
