Sellar hasn't shown anything. The mark he took was clearly hands in the back, and after that he turned it over with his other possessions basically.

Otten is the major positive from our young players. Jacky and Martin will probably make it but need more time. Petrenko also looked good when he has had it..

I said a little bit. He has had a couple of clean marks and chased well. Hard to do a lot when Geelong are pressuring our midfielders well.

Petrenko has been good too. There has been a lot to like about the group. Tackling looks better imo, unlucky not to get more HTB free kicks. So many incorrect disposals by the Cats.

It's a positive compared to our match last year at home vs Geelong anyway.

Some things to like.

Hentschel getting through unscathed, he will get better.
Otten looks like he's taken the next step, just needs better awareness,
Edwards, looks as good as ever
Tex's injury maybe no too bad and looked very good on a top quality opponent
Petrenko is the goods we hoped Jacky would be (if he can kick straight for goal)
Martin? Would promote him off the rookie list and put Burton on the LTIL. Some skill errors but a goer
Stevens still looks better on tall forwards and as a change up forward, a la Hansen

Well, Hentschel got through the game alright. Big positive there.
Tex is hopefully okay. Looked good when he was on. 2 scoring shots on Scarlett in a quarter or so isn't a bad effort for your first game.
All the youngsters showed signs, though none really looked like first 22 players at this stage. Plenty to work with.
We looked better than Geelong when Ablett wasn't on, which is a positive I guess.
Rucks were a concern. Maric was okay around the ground. Griff was virtually unsighted. Both were flogged by Blake in the hitouts.
Ball movement was sometimes really good but mostly abysmal. Needs work.
Pressure was generally very good.
About what we would have expected from this game I'd say. Plenty of work to do before the season proper though.

Moran looked pretty shit in defensive contests. Looked ok taking the ball out of defence though.
Cook impressed me again.
Martin didnt.
Ive nearly lost all hope in Sellar making it as a forward.
Really hope Walker is all good for next week to get some form before round 1.
