Presumably his means he’s sticking around, at least for next year:

“... and plan to move in together, along with Hugh Dixon, at season's end.’

Extension news and Rising Star nom :thumbsu:

Gooseage doesn't understand that the nomination is for consistent weekly contributions, not just on the game that week. Cerra had played consistently well for us since his first game.
A well deserved nomination.

Wouldn't think there would be too many of the rising star nominees over the years that have polled the 10 coaches votes in a game in their first season. Be interesting to see if he gets the 3 Brownlow votes from that game too. There may be more consistent players...but BOG games I would think are rare.

From Freo's point of view I reckon end of the year is the right time to offer Cerra a new contract as we're still figuring out what we can offer to players out of contract and free agents.

I love the way our boys have gone about their first year in afl footy but none of them are close to Stephenson. He’s way out in front
In what way? Apart from goals, Cerra has him covered. Have a look at the clearances and disposal efficiency. He's also 9 months younger than Stephenson, moved interstate, and had to deal with injury interrupted pre-season. Pretty happy with what he is showing.

Yes I agree but Stevo would have to be the only 1st year player whose team sets up specifically to suit him. They deliberately isolate him in the f50 because he is such a difficult matchup despite being a rake.

Still you are right, he should **** it in.

Comparing Cerra and Stephenson is hard because Cerra has played down back where as I don't think that Stephenson has.

I think Stephenson played down back for a quarter in our game once the game was over. Just for education purposes I would guess

I was at the Bombers V Pies game - Stephenson is a very good player and is much bigger than you would think. Super Quick and can create space on the lead in a second or two. If it wasn't for us getting burnt by Pitt, I think we would have rolled the dice on him.... But is saying all of that, Cerra is still a ripper but has not had the influence of Stephenson this year.

I like Stevo and hope he does well. For a skinny rake he sure wins a few one on ones.

If Cerra keeps some form up till the end he might move up to top 3, but with all yhe selectors dirty vic media types, doubt they have watched him play much

This is a bit cryptic...hope it means an extension???

Cryptic?

It’s a photo of him because he won the NAB Rising Star nomination for the round.

The ball shows NAB.

The comment has a star in it.

‘Forever Freo’ is one of our mottos.

Unless you’re a poker player and picked up on a tell based on how he smiles, there’s nothing cryptic here.

More so it was only posted an hour ago by Freo and there was no proper caption.

But that does make more sense now that you've put it like that. My brain is fried. It has been a long day.

Carry on
