Toast Chad ****ing Wingard

As someone with a man crush on Stewie Dew, I think you might be forgetting someone...

I loved Stewie Dew and I wanted the ball in his hand but he wasn't an elite player. An elite kick and very good footballer but not elite. He never won a B&F, didn't get close and never made won an All Australian selection.

He didn't get himself fit enough to be elite. Was a footballer's, footballer, but he could have been so much more. Mr Wingard leaves no stone upturned to be the best he can be.

How old is Chad? Wikipedia has him born both on 29th July and 29th August, and footywire.com says he is born 29th September??

He did post this on his facebook July 22nd
One more week till the best day of each year!. Ha

Everyone keeps saying he's 19 though...

Hopefully he stays 19 forever then

Chad was on 5cc this afternoon. He's an incredible talent and has a good head on his shoulders to boot. He answered the questions like a true professional. His answers were well considered and clearly expressed. Hard to believe he's just turned twenty.

He was captain of the state's under 18 team in 2011. Even at this stage you can tell see his leadership potential.

I still break out into a big stupid shit-eating grin watching over and over as Wingard marks and kicks goals in the last 6 minutes of the game. He has ice-water in his veins.

I just saw that too. Awesome. Lebron.

Remember watching live, thinking the angle of his kick was heading towards the right goal post. He got up early in celebraish, though bless his heart.

I notice that too before even had a shot for goal ..guy is just so clutch...

He has developed a trrademark of serious straight face into manic scream....I approve this :thumbsu:

and Dennis says "it IS his birthday!" I think which is weird because he didn't make a reference previously (that's probably wrong) and it wasn't his birthday but it sure is birthday week, Chad Wingard week, Port Adelaide year !!

I noticed this in the after match presser with Hinkley too. Chad was so composed and humble. Not a hint of FIGJAM about him, which is great. Seems to have a great head on his shoulders.

Yep. Asked at the After-Match what winning the Showdown Medal meant to him.

His reply: "It's a great honour, but I'd trade this for the win any day."

:hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Any idea what the article was about?

Apparently the article sort of 'quoted' him as saying that he would love to be in pressure, match-winning situations and suggested he thought he could handle it. He said, quite politely, that he wasn't too happy with how it was written. Probably made him sound a bit of a FIGJAM, and would have made him look a goose if he'd missed that shot.

The kid spoke very well, very articulate and mature, definitely not up himself.
