That starting Celtic line up should have won comfortably. No excuses on transfers. But yeah probably just as well they didn’t qualify
Against Kairat from Kazhakstan?? Come on mateA 31yo Forrest was the 5th choice winger at Celtic under Ange and only got a new contract because we needed warm bodies to fill the home grown quota for the champions league.
Fast forward 3 years and because they have sold everyone and not bothered to replace them, we have to use Maeda as a centre forward, and Forrest at 34yo becomes our 1st choice winger.
It’s 99% on transfers and the board. Rodgers style is unimaginative but his hands well and truly tied here.

Yeah but in the SPFL you have no challenger this year.If you have 80 million cash in the bank you wouldn't expect your club to invest some of that* to give yourself the best possible chance?
Small teams park the bus, they do it in the SPFL, if you don't have the attacking quality then you don't break them down. Simple as that.
* Striker 10 million, Winger 5 million, Winger 5 million. Not too much to ask basically what we have taken in for Kuhn and the Frimpong sell on.

Can we end this nonsense that appears from time to time they'd be EPL teams if they left Scottish football. Average size fish in a small pond.

Scotland needs to look at Belgian, Dutch leagues for ideas. But perhaps the issue is a smaller population than them, hence smaller money. If they went to the PL they would be getting 100 million plus tv money a season compared to 5 million tv money a season to spend on players. Plus increased money from sponsorship, ticket sales etc. Celtic Park would be like the 5th biggest stadium in the PL and they would fill it out every week. If they had access to PL tv money Celtic would be a Villa level club minimum.
