What is going on with you and the wing position?
Ha, like I said previously, we aren’t really playing through the wing or to spread the field. Need to push Burgmann to the back 6. Can’t play Marshall, Dixon, Georgiadies and Finlayson in the forward 6. There isn’t a heap of ready to go wingmen waiting to come in and Lachie Jones was deplorable last week. I think Burgmann back, Georgiadies in and Jones out is a net gain, need to swing those big fellas up forward to make it happen.

I still think Clurey to a wing wouldn’t hurt either, if it meant Burgmann to the back 6 again.

Burgoyne is progressing, but Lorenz isn’t quite up to it yet, Sinn’s past two-three years, Jackson Injury, JHF and SPP on the sidelines are 5 options we don’t have to roll through there.

When TeeKray is meh on MG you gotta bring him in, it's like when he pretty much said Rozee was a spud a few years ago.

All the hooting and hollering on this board over the years over how this club can't develop a key forward and he wants him hidden in the twos because he isn't a complete player yet and wants aggro beard man to be given a gold pass. Bizarre.

Not sure what the not wanting to "risk it" business is all about. MG could just as easily hurt himself playing in the twos.
Different levels of intensity. Also have the luxury of managing his workload at SANFL level vs AFL level.

Could you imagine if they selected Jones again?
Love the bloke, but in a tight game, he cost us dearly.

Counted at least 5 dropped marks, of which 4 were very simple ones. Pretty sure they scored goals directly off at least 4 of those mistakes.

They were all relatively uncontested, and the team had set off to get ahead of the ball which is extremely costly.

He just seems to lack composure, and maybe a few weeks in the SANFL at a slower pace will give him a bit more composure. Williams has done nothing wrong and deserves to come in.

I think Jones is worth persisting with. It’s early in the season, but he needs AFL games, has elite speed, just needs to learn how to mark, and use his speed better.
I don't think anybody is writing his entire AFL career off. His current form doesn't warrant AFL games, and he needs to go back and get his touch back. Williams or McKenzie should come in.

In: JHF, Sweet, Williams
Out: Wines, Finlayson, Evans, Burgoyne

Given Essendon are down Wright, so they will play 2 rucks. Finlayson will be destroyed against Draper/Goldstien.

A bit split on Jones. Drop him and destroy his confidence. I like the idea of moving him forward into an SPP role, but that’s 3 weeks too late. If done, Evans goes out, Williams comes in as the 6th defender.

Sub would be either Evans or Sinn. Not sold on Burgoyne, thought he missed a few too many tackles in the short period as sub last week, plus he probably needs a full game.

Goldstein is about on par with us playing Redden. He's not our problem he's Essendons.

Unlike redden, he is an experienced lumbering big body that can kick a goal…

His %hit outs won is rated elite…. Wanna guess what Finlayson’s is?

12 hit outs and 2 clearances vs the Saints.
Played about 66 minutes 25 ruck contests 9 disposals and did nothing forward.

In 2024 if Essendon could choose between Finlayson and Goldstein they would choose Finlayson.

Out: Wines, Jones, Mcentee (lol - it will likely be Evans)

In: JHF, Sinn/Williams, Georgiades

Not sure why Evans being out over McEntee is a lol, i thought McEntee was better. Both weren’t great but Evans was worse. Mcentee started well but fizzled.

Will probably be JHF for Wines and will make our midfield look a whole lot better without a has been brownlow medalist past it, slow bull hack kicking out if stoppage and when in space.

Jones should get dropped for williams but wouldnt be surprised if burgoyne or evans does instead
