Wont be betting on it just hope we justify that price and secure the win.

I’ll be there one day, the beauty is that I already don’t have an ACL so if they get rid of that to make room then it will be easy for them, it’s already gone.

It's two weeks. It used to matter and they'd prioritise for it when it was one week, but now the bye week renders one day over 13 or 14 academic.

Given how much of a port nuff he is, it’s also entirely possible he’s just trying to play mind games with Brisbane. I wouldn’t trust a word he says, although my advice with that doesn’t really differ from week to week lol

The more I watch Dev play the more I think his future lies in a role as a defensive tagger.

You always need one in your team.

My issue with Dev is that I cannot see he has any other role.

I went to the Port game. Our second half was so terrible it defied belief and I have had a somewhat negative opinion of our chances all year as a result.

We didn't get the ball in the second half: thirteen goals to two IIRC.

We have a better list to pick from (overall, Ashcroft is missing) but I hope it was the mother of all aberrations.

Grandson's second birthday so won't be there so yell hard for me.

My issue with Dev is that I cannot see he has any other role.

At this point in his development it doesn’t really matter where he plays because he is playing a defensive role. He plays a defensive role when on the wing, when in the forward line and when playing in the middle. Which is not a role where he will shine but he does play his role and every Premiership team needs role players and that is what he is at the moment.
Jarryd Lyons is one who isn’t able to play any other role other than the one he has done his whole career, winning the ball in the middle of the ground.

It'll be a good time to take the first round tape out and dissect it end to end. We didn't play that bad all season in my opinion. What we didn't do then vs what we are doing today will be a good comparison and confidence booster for the team.

The Port game is one where I felt it was another example of our overconfidence - similar to Hawthorn and the Suns.

We were on a five game winning streak against them and had fairly easily handled everything they've thrown at us in those games. It's one of those recurring themes this year where we've gone in to games thinking we can walk it in and get absolutely thumped all around the park.

 

[On the quiet]

The midfield is obviously Port's strength, but I do think we have the players to shut down a Rozee, Butters, SPP if they get off the chain, anyone of Berry, Dunkley or Robertson could be called on to do the job.

Is it just my perception or does Powell-Pepper always play well against us?

yep.
Starc likely gets Powell-Pepper, who likes to palm off players, this is a big match up
Payne probably on Marshall, if he plays the deepest forward.
Harris on Dixon

Dev to shut down Rozee or Butters.

Importantly we need to be conscious of Dan Houston when Port are in the vicinity of 55 to 60m from our goal.

Our backs tend to play a zone type defence, but I reckon a more aggressive 1 v 1 style is required in high pressure finals footy.

I suspect that was done for the game review.
Then we came out and beat the Dees that week.
If they are smart the tape would then have been destroyed.

Funny how nervous most of us are.

I was going back to 2001-2004 - i honestly can't ever remember being nervous before or during a final at the gabba, but figured maybe it was rose tinted glasses.

6 finals - smallest winning margin 32 points - AVERAGE winning margin 56.5 points. Wow.
