But we have to bring in the youth?!
Duggan, Sheed, Mutimer in and Nelson would still be in if fit, bit of youth in the team. I would like to see Nelson into the mid when fit and Cole, Rioli and Venables in the team by the end of the year.

Hopefully we get a lot more out of duggan shred and redden this week.
I didn't think sheed was that bad last week . 6 clearances with a couple of them very good releasing handballs .
Sheed may not have accumulated much on the outside but our uncontested ball was poor across the whole team .

Redden was back to following his opponent into the contest instead of going for the ball himself . Needs to just go in hard .

Duggan was just disappointing

Awe inspiring

Then Redden ( as suggested) goes back and get 35+ whilst ol mate Karpany gets 12 meaningless positions on HFF, less if played v a hardened AFL midfield side...

Please understand, I agree with you. But there is literally **** all in the cupboard to pick from. DV and Watson excluded.

Masten, Redden, Priddis. We all want them out. But that youth in the reserves. Dear me, it is a nightmare.

He was emergency earlier in the year fir WC so he must have done something decent to get named, and if we were going solely on WAFL stats Duggan wouldn't have been named. Karps has attributes like pace and agility we sorely need hence me preferring him to Redden or Masten. I'd play him on a wing and rotate him through the middle in bursts to give other guys a chop out.

I don't think that's asking too much. Also, dependent on form, it'd be nice to see Partington get a crack at some stage too. That might depend on how we're travelling as a side though.

I think Masten and Redden are lucky Cripps and Nelson are injured.

Would be nice to see Masten and Redden out when Cripps and Nelson come back.

And be nice to see Karpany or Rioli come in for LeCras.

Simpson talks tough at the selection table but when it comes to the crunch, he is weak as water

If he REALLY wanted to sent a message, he would have dropped Priddis (or even Hurn) for a week simply to make an example and everyone would have gone ffffaarrrrrkkkkkkkkk!!!

Watson is the clear replacement for Hurn.

When has a coach EVER dropped his captain after captaining the team to 13 wins and 3 loss's ober the last 16 games????? Turn it up.

Thats precisely the point; what greater message could possibly be sent for repeated failures on footballs biggest stage?

To me, the rot starts at the top

Keys Barney44 - from your WAFL views does "Karps has attributes like pace and agility we sorely need?" Would he bring more to the heat of the kitchen than Redden or Masten? Should we "see" what can do?

Genuine question, I won't pretend to know what he might bring. I can only go on stats

I have always favoured shooting the messenger, rather then getting the message. All you messengers to the team may consider yourselves dead.

He's nippy but not outright quick. Moves well in traffic and has a neat side step. Disposal is usually neat although not a long quick

Not a strong tackler and isn't going to crash packs open with his build. Suffers the same affliction as many of his teammates in that he lacks genuine aggression

I'd be happier if he was getting more of the ball at WAFL - not against him getting a game at some stage but he's not knocking the door down

He still might do that if they don't lift in the Derby. I am very pleased with the muted one coming into the team - pace and size - we need a lot more of that.

Interesting how redden would fair if he was the
Marsdo and SwellingHam are starting on the bench. I'm sure they're cut deep. Team is on notice
I may have masto out on my teams but to fair the bloke has had a decent start to the season and was not too bad on the weekend. He's not the type that will win you a game or change it but he did his thing without his usual impact.

Lamb is too inconsistent and his bad games are truly terrible

Mcinness has had some good games including a BOG last weekend playing as a KPF with an occasional run in the ruck. Behind all the other talls though and is no more than a desperation pick if injury strikes

Venables is steadily building his form and fitness base - think he might be somewhere near it in a month or so

Jetta needs a block of time in the WAFL to get his shit together and find consistency of effort. Wasn't great last week

Cole - played his first league game at EP last weekend on managed minutes. Expect he'll be pushing in a couple of weeks

Schofield selection is based purely on team balance

Mackenzie has built a solid bank of form in recent weeks and would be ready to come in if needed due to injury. He's going well

Hutch is fringe

Rotham is raw and probably a fair way off despite some encouraging early signs

Karpany is close to a game albeit his form has been ok not great

The EP v Peel game is also televised on 7 this Saturday before the derby if you want to have a look see

And there lies our problem, people are talking Karpany and he is just going ok.

No wonder the current side is playing like they are , no pressure for spots, that will come at the end of the year i guess when we are starting to get a full side.
