Bower makes the rest of the backline nervous drop him 4 tbird Walker in for robbo wont happen because he is soft and cant tackle like robbo
and how do you know this?

Thornton must come in this week, he is clearly in our best 22 and would assist in a defence that has looked quite average for the past two months.
Ratten needs to sort out the issues with him so we can put forward our best 22 this week.
Hampson & Yarran were quite disappointing last night and would be under pressure to hold their spot this week.
Ratten has some tough choices, aside from Thornton, Jacobs & Walker would both be close to selection

I wouldn,t drop Bower, thought his second half was better than the first when the midfielders applied more pressure in the middle, as much as I luv Juddy and I know I'm probably being a little harsh on him here but his efforts at chasing opponents leave me baffled at times, just doesnt seem interested.

Outs: Hampson, Carrazo
Ins: Jacobs, Walker

Someone who seriously needs to improve tho is Betts, confidence seems down and is looking slow, can someone fill me in if he is carrying a leg injury?

Id bring in Johnson for Carazzo if he doesnt come up .. Johnson usually plays very well interstate and his penetrating left foot could come in handy ala stephen hill

Betts out. I will be shot to pieces for saying this, but i feel his lost. Trying to play the same role as Hendo. Kicking is shocking and i feel having all 3 of the smalls is not working. Yarran and Garlett stay....Betts out. Can't keep carrying guys who are outta form and keep hoping they come good, in finals they get exposed............

Think Bower should stay, but some added support down back would be a welcome. Thornton maybe?? Don't wanna drop Davies though,

Out: Betts In: Walker

Depending on who we play....If Dockers, than Hammer out Jacobs in. If Swans no change to rucks.

Mclean playing well in the 2s? some hardness in the centre would be great. Also would love to see Gibbs start and stay in the guts.

Out: Betts, Hapmson
In: Hadley/McLean, Jacobs

Would like to drop Bower as well, looks completely lost out there, probably no-one to come in so he stays.

He needs to stop holding his opponent out and actually back himself to win a contest. Showed some good signs early though. Better than last week.

Out: Hampson (Clearly Jacobs is in better form) Davies (like him, but we need bigger bodies going into finals, also gives away lots of frees) Carrazzo (depending on injury)

In Jacobs (Great tap ruckman, solid around the ground, great game) McLean/Hadley (sydney are big bodied, we need a big body in the team, McLean if fit) Johnson (was never particually bad)

Reckon that loss was just about the best thing for the club, should make them very hungry. I think i might be the only one who didn't think Bower was that bad. The ball was constantly in the defensive 50, and i thought our backline held up quite well, considering the amount of pressure they were under. Our kicking inside 50 on the other hand, was very average

I won't shoot you down on the Betts call, I have thought the same thing, however it is a big risk to take going into the finals. Betts' kicking has been off lately but he has been working hard around the ground. Also provides leadership in the Forward line, especially to Garlett.

Don't agree on Gibbs though, he is just starting to find some form in the backline and his footskills would be sorely missed there. We have more than enough mids doing the job.

Betts has been a passenger for 5+ weeks. Can't kick 40m. Can't kick straight.
Out: betts, carrots, davies, giving away wreckless free kicks
in: walker, McLean, Thornton

Ins:
Hadley/McLean (preferably McLean):
been exposed for lack of hardness in the middle. One of these players will allow Judd to play more outside with the like of Ellard, McLean/Hadley and Grigg in and under.

Jacobs: Jacobs offers a whole lot more in the ruck then Hampson does. Ruckwork needs improvement considering it the ease in which the Fremantle midfielders could get on top our ours because of Sandilands ruckwork.

Outs:
Carrazzo
: if injured

Hampson: See Jacobs. Was not good enough on Friday.

Mitch: Jesus Christ. He played a good game against Essendon and now he is shit again. Walker could offer much more, or even Johnson.

Lucky:
Eddie Betts
- 5 weeks, done nothing. cannot afford to drop him though because of what we could miss by doing so.

Paul Bower- after having trouble early, Bower was moved onto the flank and IMO was quite good. Deserves another game.

Davies: Thought he was alright and is getting better each week. Deserves another game, even though he is young and its finals.

Maybe:
Thornton -
played very well for the Bullants. Can be our CHB to relieve Bower and to order our backline.

Sauce has to come in for Hammer as well as Walker/Anderson in for Betts. All 3 had brilliant games today.

Walker and Thornton in for Davies and maybe Robbo. Thornton was brilliant today, especially given it was under finals conditions (albeit VFL). Must come in. Allows Bower to play 3rd tall rather than KP, Walker forward/midfield (no flipping defence), Gibbs midfield (not flipping HB) and Betts into the midfield. When Betts isn't playing well a run in the midfield sorts him out as it releases the shackles. Provides defensive pressure, run and gets his own ball. Often played well there.

We need strong bodies in finals, especially in a final against the Swans.

I worked out if North beat Melbourne tomorrow by 480 points (80 goals) they'll take out spot in the finals...lol!!!!

I know it wont happen, but, please PLEASE put Gibbs in the centre. Give us our best three midfielders in the middle at the start of the game with big Warnock. If the Swans (if we play them) don't have Mummy playing for them then we'll destroy them in the middle of the ground.

Don't mind this either :thumbsu:

Based on a pretty easy principle, actually. I truly believe any game against the Swans (particularly the Swans) is won in the midfield. They struggle against teams who have versatility in their midfield depth. That team that I chose has eleven guys who can rotate through the midfield (not including Betts, Garlett and Jordan Russell who should stick in their part of the ground).

It gives us the opportunity to find out very quickly which match ups are working in our favor and for the ones that aren't we have a number of options to go with. It also enables the players to stay relatively low fatigued as a result.

Out: Robinson

In: Anyone who can take a god damn chest mark and hit a target which robbo can not.

How are some of you happy to keep the side unchanged? Betts and Robinson were terrible and id way rather Walker or Thornton in the side that either one of them. They actually scored brownlow votes for Freo last night.

Fisher and Thornton should be certain in you expect they done the work. They both proven before they can play.

Could somebody please tell me why Robinson's game was so poor on the weekend? I am away at teh moment so can't watch any of the games!

But from the match reports i have read i would say:
IN: Walker, Hadley
OUT: Davies, Carrazzo

Also, why don't we bring in Walker as a forward? I imagine that they will line up shaw in their forward line again so maybe if we can get Walker firing down forward they will most likely have to move shaw down back; relieving one problem for our defence??

Why all the attention on how out of form Bower is? Jamieson has been just as terrible, did people notice how he freaked out playing on Pavlich? He stood no chance and had to try to hold and cheat to beat him but still couldn't do it. And he has been like this for a few weeks, just worrying too much about his man and forgeting about the ball and helping teamates.

Jamison is more of a worry than Bower imo. Bower at least provides some run.

Like this.

Davies unlucky, only goes out because it's a final.

Hadley over McLean, Brock just doesn't have the klms in the legs to stand up in a final

Jacobs a must for Hampson, set the game up for the Bullants yesterday

Robbo and Betts lucky. Could look at Fisher in for either and playing Waite down back if and when required.

Thought Fisher moved and presented well yesterday playing against Jack Anthony

Would play Walker forward of the defensive six with his sole instruction of providing run through the middle.

Jesse White will kick his 4+ goals against us, are we the only side he kicks goals against.

A shame Kreuzer is out, he could've taken White.

I don't really care what we do with Bower or Thornton. ( both the same )

Do you try & stretch Sydney's short backline with height or go small to stop the running defenders?

Out: Carrazzo

In: Hadley

We haven't won in Sydney since 1993, when Tim Powell debuted and Brendan parker finished up!

We did beat them at ANZ Stadium in a pre-season game in 2004, which I believe was our last trip to ANZ Stadium (it was called Telstra Stadium back then).
