I think this is the challenge we need after the last couple of weeks.

Beat these down hill skiers and we are one step closer to finals.

IN Greenwood, Varcoe, Muray

OUT Crocker, Daicos, Dunn (injured)

As was with Anzac day this game is another genuine 50/50. We got the better of them last time and they have gathered a bit more form since. My confidence is a little more than last time as I now know what we will likely deliver.

Would be great to nab the points. I hate that saying you gotta lose a game eventually but if there was a game it would be this one. But you know what? **** that. We are capable of winning every game. We were right in it with the Tigers several weeks back. Our worst game was geelong. So no **** that saying. If we stick to our plans we win. Our midfield dominating is what will drive it.

I'd be inclined to leave Mihocek forward. It's working well. We need to expose McLarty to senior footy at some point. Reid would be my choice though if possible. Has Reid had a set back in his recovery? I thought he was due for a return.

Reid, according to Walshy, has had some discomfort still in his knee, and is a few weeks away.

Ben Reid is listed as a test for his calf injury. If Dunn is out and Reid passes his test i'd bring Reid straight in.

Mihocek up forward is working really well and I'd be inclined to leave that unchanged if possible.

Failing Reid it has to be McLarty but we should try to limit the inexperience if possible.

IN: Reid OUT: Dunn

Varcoe can return when his VFL form earns it.

Righto. May not be an option then. I was going off the AFL site with my comment above.

I’d rather let sharenberg and Langdon take 2 talls.

Debuting another kid against a red hot Essendon with an already inexperienced team will tip us over the edge.

They would have to play on Hooker & McKernan.
Both are bad matchups for us.

Looking as best we can on what we know.

Dunn seems injured and out.

Daicos seems very vulnerable.
Appelby seems will be discussed.

Possibles to return to the Seniors.

McLarty as he’s the next big thing (like that punning? :D)

Greenwood surely is past the concussion. Experienced, tough as nails.

Callum Brown. He’s doing what he can n VFL so is thereabouts for a recall.

Sam Murray, quick, the future, can and does play back.

Varcoe. experienced and has X factor but is he still under done?

Reid and Moore are they ready? Unknown. Suggest not. Reid more likely if going that way.

Summation:

Dunn out with Appelby.

In Greenwood and Murray.

McLarty to be discussed. Reid to be discussed.
Varcoe a big discussion point.
Daicos on thin ice too I'd say.

He’s had quite a few games.
(They are, if possible and practical, giving them a good few games to see them properly)
Just now I’d agree he is right on the precipice.

Just on this, Hooker hasn't played forward since the first three games. Also with McKernan I don't think the opponent is entirely relevant, I mean he kicked 4 on Harry Taylor and made him look like Setanta O'hAilpin and then kicked 1 on Tim Mohr a week later, making him look like Matthew Scarlett.

I'll admit you guys have shocked me this year, you're playing excellent football in a year I was firmly expecting bottom 6. This is shaping to be a cracker, one of the best Essendon vs Collingwood's in a few years. Battle in the middle is absolutely vital, we're 5-1 when we've won the clearances and 2-6 when losing them, and obviously it's one of Collingwood's biggest strengths with Grundy, Pendles, Adams and co.

Please don't hate me, I know I've been very critical of Collingwood in the past but I actually mean well this time.

Appleby looked particularly shaky last night, but surely he's set for Fantasia and just shut him down. As he's looked dangerous against us in recent seasons

Was probably his worst game last night but he is a lock down defender and probably our best match up for Orazio. A good challenge for him and he can just stick to him all game and let Maynard and Crisp do the rebounding.

Bugger, was hoping Maynard could go to Fantasia again :(. Watch out for Walla too, he's starting to hit his straps as well.

Oh and feel free to come across to discuss the game. Always love oppo contributions, especially critiquing my preview (which will either be put up tonight if I have the time/effort to do so once I've calmed down or tomorrow) because obviously you guys would be more knowledgeable than I.

Maynard has matured a crazy amount this year, not one brain fade so far but I would prefer Appleby as Maynard needs to be used to rebound off a lesser player

We seen Scharenberg get Destroyes by KPF and he not Big/Tall enough

McLarty and Varcoe both apparently cod ordinary in the VFL today, Brown, Wills and Murray amongst the best in a beaten side.

How much do we need to win by and Richmond lose by for us to be first?
