We could be looking to fill venables role? We seriously need a player to fill his role.
Venables couldn't even fill the Venables role!

Brisbane have three talls in their forward line, McInerny very tall.
I think Schofield's experience is necessary to replace McGovern.
Nelson has to go out, just a no impact player. Don't mind if any of Rotham, Cole or Watson replace him. I probably prefer Rotham. He is a not a true KPD but more a third tall. Seems to be a good stopper too.
Both Petch and AhChee did nothing in the forward line. I would replace Petch with Williams. Fwd line is tall but all the best replacement players are tall.
Zorko will need to prove his fitness later in the week after pulling up sore following Saturday's win against Fremantle. He had been nursing Achilles soreness in the lead-up to the game and will again be managed during the week
Their talls aren't their most dangerous players. McInerny kicked 10 goals last year.
2019 Brisbane leading goal kickers:
Cameron 57
Hipwood 35
Zorko 23
McCluggae 23
McStay. 20
So you want 3 tall forwards + 2 rucks?
If their talls only have last weeks Barrass to contend with they will destroy us. Even against GC our one on one defence was often hopelessley undersized. Problem is their talls could mark. Two of those leading five goal kickers - Hipwood and McStay are tall.
I can't see us dropping Kennedy yet. Darling has to play, so we are in a bit of a bind. Either play an undersized out of position Allen in the ruck, play him as a forward and be too tall, or don't play him at all. Allen was our best fwd against GC by a mile. The four small forwards put tother weren't worth a bucket of shit.
What do you do? Are there any small players worth a game? Ainsworth? Just joking.
I know you want to drop JK but that isn't going to happen.
I think you're forgetting fwd pressure, that was his role. Not 20 disposals and 3 goals a game.BAHAHA. Venables role? He was the worst player and most overrated player during that period. He had no role period. If role you mean 6 possessions a game kicking 1-2 goals. We pumped games in him hoping to get a diamond out of coal.
You might be joking but, in terms of availability, Ainsworth is probably the next small available and, in his limited games, did not disgrace himself. Two of those leading five goal kickers - Hipwood and McStay are tall.

Preparing our Ainers for the rest of the season? Might be wise after Saturday's effort. You might be joking but, in terms of availability, Ainsworth is probably the next small available and, in his limited games, did not disgrace himself.

Out: Gov (brain fart), complacency
In: Schoey, effort
B: Sheppard, Schofield, Hurn
HB: Jetta, Barrass, Duggan
C: Gaff, Shuey, Brander
HF: Cripps, Darling, Sheed
F: Ryan, Kennedy, Allen
R: Naitanui, Kelly, Yeo
I: Nelson, Redden, Ah Chee, Petruccelle
E: Williams, Rotham, Waterman, Jones
Gone conservative with Schofield over Rotham. Think that’s our best side for this week, as much as I’d like to get a game into Roth. Schoey to take the deepest tall forward (whether that’s Hipwood, McStay or McInerney) and let Barrass play Gov’s role, which honestly he seems better suited to compared with the role he usually plays.
Shep to get first crack at Cameron. Nelson next in line if he gets off the chain.
Ah Chee and Petch are really beneficiaries of the unavailability of Rioli, Venables and Cameron. I think bringing in a Jones (off interrupted preparation) or Treacy would be bit of an overreaction, but they should be on notice. Jones is in the emergencies for that reason.
Waterman and Williams unlucky but we can’t afford to get any taller.
If Shuey doesn’t get up I really don’t know who we bring in. Maybe Jones, with him and Ah Chee taking some midfield rotations.
"Stretching undersized defence" funny how this gets bandied about so often still, despite it not being a thing for the last decade at least![]()
In the mix: Who's pushing for selection in round three?
Who's knocking on the selectors' door? Who's coming back from injury? And who's under the pump?www.afl.com.au
Verdict: Schofield, Cole and Waterman in for McGovern, Nelson and Ah Chee.
Extra height in attack to stretch the Lions' undersized defence. - Mitch Cleary
Ahhrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!! Sure lets go even taller. FFS!!!!![]()
The 'stretching our undersides' defencePreparing our Ainers for the rest of the season? Might be wise after Saturday's effort.
