Now that we have seen out this year what changes do we have to make to improve?
Delistings, Trades, Drafts, Promotions etc.

Don't think we'll make any trades, as Bomber seems to detest them.

As for delistings, Byrnes, Tenace and DJ spring to mind, with Nathan retiring. Can't think of any more off the top of my head.

I like to see Lonegan,if he stays, be turned into a defender.
A decision has to be made on Hawkins, he is the number 1 guy now.
Play him

You need a full forward that can kick 5-7 goals a game, you have lacked that. Tommy L isn't a FF. Hawkins will take another 2 or so years to be a great full forward. You need an establised player to play at full forward for next year if you have any hope of getting a premiership. If you put Tommy in the team next year (still developing), he will only get 3 goals a game and that's sub-standard for a FF.

3 goals a game is 66 goals for the year. still gooood :thumbsu:

Disagree with that. We didn't have a FF who kicked 5-7 goals a game last year either, yet we've won 42 of the last 45. I think having an even spread of goalkickers is one of our strengths. Would rather that than being too reliant on one guy.

Don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Today was just a very bad day. It was our decision making and poor disposal that cost us as much as anything today.

If the players can get over the mental scars of today then we will challenge again next year. A fit Hawkins however would have been a bonus today.

Wojcinski will never be dropped for a GF again whilst he is at Geelong.

Can Barry Hall make a contribution?

No.

Tenace and DJ to be delisted.

Byrnes as trade bait maybe.

NAbett retired. (Though part of me hopes it's a facade, and he will arrive in february fit and buff from altitude training in a monastery in the Himalayas, some kind of kung-fu monastery).

Other than that, I'd be keen give a few young guys a run pre-season and hold judgement until then.

If I were smart I'd put Mackie and Stokes up for trade, see what you can get. Both have been poor this year rating it against 2007.

Totally agree. Our foot disposal into the forward line; lack of defensive pressure in the forward line and poor decision making whilst entering the forward line cost us the game. Of course, bad kicking at goal costs us th game!!

You will have to remember that Matty Egan, Harley, Taylor, Scarlett and Milburn will provide us with a great back six. And, if you add Wojo and Mackie into the mix, we will still have the best defensive backline in the competition.

Apart from Mackie, Milburn, Scarlett and Harley, the other 2 remaining spots in the back half will be up for grabs.

THE GOVERNOR

That wouldn't be smart at all. I very much doubt their currency exceeds their value. Mackie has probably been better then last year, Stokes has been carrying injuries.

mackie has had a super year, worry about your own club

I will do, the BEST club in the modern era :D.

Bad luck on today, it is tough, I went through it in 2004. I haven't been able to see a replay of the game (V. Port Adelaide), too hard to do. Good luck next year and all the best. Would love another PF against the Cats - was a great tight game in 2004. You never know, we may be able to see you in the finals next year, in Voss we trust.
