The sad reality is that anyone on the list who has played 100 games or more is not going to play in a Richmond premiership, because we are so far off the pace that we will not win a flag during their careers. Therefore, any of those players who are not contributing must go - the only way Richmond can move towardsa flag eventually is to play the youngsters who might have a chance to win a flag in 5-10 years.Anyone care to predict next changes?
Of course, what is also required is a coach who can actually develop youngsters. Terry Wallace has got any track record of being able to develop players. He inherited a strong, senior list at the Western Bulldogs and took them to 2 preliminary finals in 1997 and 1998. With the exception of Nathan Foley, it is hard to identify a single Richmond youngster who has achieved more than was expected of him when he was drafted. Three years ago, Hawthorn were nowhere - Clarkson has developed the talent and drilled them well. Wallace has done nothing.
And when are these boys going to start playing for the jumper????
After all that, changes next week:
OUT: Wallace, Bowden, Tivendale, Simmonds
IN: Anyone who can coach, Connors, McGuane, Edwards.
