Still fielding 8 with over 150 games

And 8 with under 50 games

If they don’t start deliberately cutting older players like Greenwood and Mayne out of the line up... we will get to a point where we are forced to field 10-12 under 50 games players every week

Baby steps. Greenwood has a job to do tomorrow night.

The best 22 is beginning to resemble something that you can get behind this year, but there’s still a few taking us absolutely nowhere in Greenwood, Mayne, Brown and Madgen. They can’t all go out at once...

In an ideal world Greenwood and Mayne wouldnt play in the same starting 22. But with limited depth and Adams and Elliott out, its neccessary to play them both. Personally I'd prefer Greenwood over Mayne. Madgen played his best career game last week and is developing along fine. Brown might be next to go out as another kid comes in but I wouldnt even write Cal off.

This week we have Keane playing his second game, Macrae his first and McCreery his second actual game. Thats what we want to see...3-4 spots to development players.

H

He’s been dropped. Something going on there I reckon.
Maybe not gastro, maybe a hangover...
How many players are going to be traded for next to nothing or dropped because the club is unable to handle them? When the team is already low on numbers, omitting one of our few inside mids capable of making any kind of impact is perplexing and frustrating. If supporters are happy to sit on the bottom rung of the ladder, they will be happy that Cox and Sier have been omitted on top of losing Treloar and Stephenson. The people who truly need to be shifted out of the club are unfortunately still coaching and selecting the team.

I’m pretty confident Sier being dropped is all down to the choices he makes. Can’t blame the club for that.

Man everyhing I say latley you disagree with

Imo Grundy should of been dropped ok?

But cause he on a million a year won't happen..

Cox has looked good this year..

Last week conditions did not suit him

I dont really keep tabs on who I have disagreed with over what topic. If I have disagreed with you a lot you probably have been wrong a lot. Going by your "drop Grundy" theory then maybe you have been.

I agree Cox has been very harshly done by and the only reason I can see for that is that they want to play Moore forward. If they were going to go down that path they shouldnt have brought Cameron in. Personally I'd play both CAmeron and Cox forward and leave Moore back.

But dropping Gruundy? Idiotic suggestion

Maybe Sier isn’t actually well enough to play. Adams was “omitted” after all.
If that were the case he wouldn’t be listed as ‘omitted.’ He hasn’t been dropped for having a runny bottom. More to play out I reckon.

All 4 shouldn’t be playing together. The only point I want to stress is how ****ing overrated Madgen’s game was last week...

What do you know about the circumstances surrounding his omission? The same as me - nothing. I choose to run with the belief that Sier is an infinitely better player than anyone who is going to take his place, particularly with Adams out, and that coaches should be doing their utmost to retain him in the team. You choose to believe that the club can do no wrong. We are not only not on the same page but reading totally different books.

I’m generally a fan of Mason. But I’m ok with him being dropped precisely because it doesnt make a heap of sense. it smacks of a left field plan and we need to do something left field given the odds. It will be a disaster or a master stroke but at least it’s something different.

All the talk is Moore forward, but it could just as easily be Madgen into the midfield mix. He trained as an inside mid with our VFL group earlier this week.

Roughead, Moore, Howe and Keane isn’t much different to Roughead, Moore, Howe and Madgen who started in defence for the first three weeks.
