Centre clearances were even at 12 each. So Vis was actually somewhat effective out the centre considering our mids were pants all day.

Where we got smashed was around the grounds where Xerri could out-muscle Vis in the ruck and act as a follower after. This is the area of his game he needs to improve.
Oh ok, the eye test lied to me than. But yea around the ground vis is very poor.

We need a proper tap ruckman, the ruck coach is Lobbe, he was only ever a crash in type that didn't tap to advantage like Ryder.

Maybe I was wrong about Wines, we seemed to miss him more than I thought we would in the middle.

and yet we still couldnt win it out the centre to save our life, dante hit it to the north players every single time whilst providing nothing around the ground.
And we bemoaned Sweet for most of last year because he couldn’t take a mark and constantly hit it to the oppo mids!

I’d say they cancel each other out in most respects, but Vis is younger and more athletic, and a longer term proposition.

This forum loves talking up ruckman.
Hayes was the last pin up boy to be fed to the Dogs and Vis has taken over.
Around the ground he’s showing less that Lobbe.
I know ruckman take longer but I don’t see anything in him.

Feels like we might end up chopping and changing between Vis and Sweet regularly this season.

So be it. Better than no pressure on the ruck spot and doing nothing. Hopefully one of them has emerged as the clear frontrunner before the end of the season.

gee when was the last time we didnt have one of/all of Mead, McEntee and lord in the team, breath of fresh air

I'd rather have Brodie for MacKinlay, his kicking is a huge worry
Someone said to me that MacKinlay's kicking was a real issue earlier this year, and it didnt really stick with me. But after watching the last few games and clearly what you have noticed Addy i think it might be a thing.
Bit of a wait and see, he hasnt played a lot of games.

It’s when I see him as an emergency, that I start to get panic attacks

I said pre-draft that he has AFL attributes but he's a shocking kick. Unfortunately, if you can't kick at least at an average success rate, I'm never going to place much faith.

I’ve seen a lot of Brodie in Perth.
Don’t expect to much from him at AFL level.
Top class WAFL player but struggles in the big time.
There’s a reason he went for pick 80 something.
I've seen Brodie enough at AFL to give him a go over MacKinlay and Watkins. Could be just my opinion but he was very good under Carr at Freo and he was left out once Carr left for reasons that no one really knows

For me Mackinlay's running is more of an asset then watkins

Brodie, drew and watkins in the same best 23 is so yuck.
If it were purely upto me, I'd do Brodie for Watkins and Moraes for MacKinlay. But can't see us making 4 changes tbh. I'm also a fan of Zadow, and while I've always rated what DBJ brings, I wonder whether Zadow can provide something that one level above DBJ. It's a risky call so can understand why it won't be made.

He couldn’t crack a game for Freo in 2 years.
Yes there midfield was pretty good but he couldn’t get a spot anywhere.
You’re most probably right he’s better than Watkins and Mackinlay.
None of these guys are ever going to play in a premiership unless it’s on a PlayStation.

dafuq? he was a top 10 draft pick in 2016 he hasnt played AFL level since 2023 even then in those 5 years he got some honest numbers, thats 3 years not even in and out stints at the level. You cant make that assumption when he hasnt even had the chance to show anything at the highest level and rotted away in the WAFL in the last 3 years.

Give the bloke a chance, gives these skinny outside types like McKinlay and Burgoyne a chance to actually have the ball in space by winning the in and under and if you watched any of the round 1 game at all you know we were crying out for a big body 189cm+ ball winner and tackler instead of chucking rozee in there. Not like we’re winning anything this year, we are just filtering out the list
