As long as we drop Vickery i'll be a happy man, kid seems a bit soft to me to be playing ruck.

I THINK we need to learn from past mistakes.
I looked at Dan Connors last night and thought his game - a clanger or two aside - was actually pretty decent.
Correct me if I am wrong, but this is his fourth year and he's only looking at becoming a regular.
Wallace near ruined his career by playing him for two games, demoting him back to Coburg and ignoring him for the next eight weeks before bringing him back for one or two more.
Learn from the past, what gain is there in demoting the likes of Nason, Roberts and Farmer after one week and playing them sparingly throughout the year.
You run the risk of turning them into Connors-like players, who only offer something four years into their career.
Pointless.
Give them an extended run and let them develop!
On changes ... the most logical change that is needed is bringing in another big body up forward. I see Riewoldt and Morton (who ain't really a key forward) being burnt out by round 12 if they are forced to continually shoulder all the hard work.
I wonder if Kingy will play (as a swap for Roberts) as he is available.
yes he will, we need him.
tambling, or nahas will make way, take your pick...Nahas probably...has done nothing all pre season
SLIGHTLY amusing some people are calling for as many as four and five players to be axed. Why would you want to drop a 19 year old after 10 career games? This season is supposed to be about development and he was not our worst.
Just because you say it is so, doesn't actually make it true ptf. I wouldn't be surprised to learn you only listen to games on the radio you're so far off the mark time after time on the bleeding obvious.
Your the last one who should be given advice about people watching games or questioning as to whether they are able to see others view , remember this statement " Tuck was easily our best mid besides Martin and would have been our BOG had he not sat out much of the first half. Every one of our 2nd half goals came through him at one stage or another. " WRONG WRONG WRONG !!
I gave you an example of Cousins doing it and there were a heap of others through the game. Geelong do it all the time.
There is not a single side in the comp where their midfielders aren't specifically instructed to bang the ball on the boot and get it as far as possible to a dangerous spot (preferably inside-50) if they're about to be tackled from a centre square ball-up and have no options they can get the ball to before being brought down.
I once again beleive this is you speculating with zero proof to back up what your talking about although I'm happy to view your evidence , I really do struggle to beleive that anyone would know that "There is not a single side in the comp where their midfielders aren't specifically instructed to bang the ball on the boot"
It happens from every team in every game, well over 20 times on average in total. Of course it's not an ideal way to go into attack and every side tries to minimise the amount of times they have to do it, but it's a midfield reality.
The fact that you don't know these things speaks volumes about your football knowledge, from a playing or spectating perspective.
Well enlighten us how you know so much about every sides instruction to their players ?
Geelong's mids and flankers are infinitely better at finding space than ours, but they still have to kick for territory all the time. One of the key things which makes Geelong such a great side is the fact thatthey barely have anyone who can't receive an ordinary disposal and make it good by beating their opponent 1-on-1.

Sorry for boys, going out on a bit of a limb here, but just wanted to share my two cents.
If i was Damian Hardwick, which i'm clearly not as i'm posting on Bigfooty but i would do the following:
INS: Tuck,Graham
OUTS: Roberts, Moore
Don't see Post as a necessary in against the Dogs as we only have the one Key Forward in Bazza, which Mcguane/Thursfield will go to.
I Think Tuck will be a positive in for yous, as he gets his knees dirty, and will get the ball out for players like Martin and Connors.
Youse must bring in a more solid second ruck men, because Huddo and Willba will run all over Simmonds and Vickery, and i see a little bit of upside still in Graham.
Roberts, shown brilliance, but needs to get his fitness up will be good for him if he can get 5-10 games out this season.
Go the Dogs![]()
What the hell game were you watching, Connors was one of our best players, but you want to drop him because he had a few brain fades?simmonds to full forward rucking in the forward line only we need his exp in the team.
drop
Roberts too unfit needs to work on fitness
nahas looked lost need to work on a few things
connors play ok but to many brain fades
edwards same as connors
bring in
Graham needs to step p and take the 1st ruck
polak can play both ends the ground always give his all
Tuck get the ball
white works hard
players who need a kick up the arse
lids,cuz,jackson,tamb,cotchin
all went missing to often during the game.
these 5 are our most important players they need take it to the next level

They did good because they found their level KCT. Also LOL @ feeling more encouraged watching King, McMahon, White and co over Connors, Nason, Martin, Farmer and the other kids.![]()
Bugger me, look at all the chicken littles running around hysterically because we didn't come out round 1 and belt the Blues. Seriously WTF did you guys expect tonight. While I hoped we would steal a win there was no way I was walking in with more than 25% confidence that it would happen.
As for the changes, unless someone has an injury that stops them from playing I would give the same 22 another week against the Dogs and see who redeems themselves and who doesn't. Thats when you'll start to learn about who wants to be part of the journey and who wants to take the easy way out.
Rome wasn't built in a day kiddies, today was the first day the builders were onsite and all they did was stand around and discuss what they wanted for morning smoko most of the time. Its going to be a long cold winter and if you blokes are this wound up after round 1 you'll be in the asylum by round 11 and legally insane by seasons end.
