i feel for Buckley, he probably will go out but i dont think he should. Has done his job since Rd 1. He was pretty good on Thomas last week, especially when he was one on one. He wasnt beaten once one on one. The only time he got scored on was when the ball was put out in front of Thomas so Bucks has no real chance stopping those.

If it was my call i would be giving Caff a run in the 2's and keep Buckley in but it wont happen

I think it would be something like this:

IN: Maxwell, Davis
OUT: Buckley, Macaffer

B: Harry O'Brien, Chris Tarrant, Alan Toovey
HB: Heath Shaw, Ben Reid, Nick Maxwell
C: Sharrod Wellingham, Luke Ball, Dale Thomas
HF: Alan Didak, Travis Cloke, Dayne Beams
F: Andrew Krakouer, Chris Dawes, Steele Sidebottom
FOLL: Darren Jolly, Scott Pendlebury, Dane Swan
INT: Ben Johnson, Leon Davis, Leigh Brown
SUB: Jarryd Blair
Emg: Brad Dick, Lachlan Keefe, Simon Buckley

Agree:)
except not sure about Blair being the sub. I think he has been pretty good in the first 2 weeks. Maybe Toovey as a sub.

Against a side with three fast small forwards? [Well, two, plus one who can play forward].

Toovey will play on Garlett all night.

My only change would be Maxwell in for Buckley. The sub needs to be someone without a big job to do, so one of the midfield rotations. Possibly Wellingham. How strong is our side when it's this tough to pick a sub?

Buckley was credited with the highest disposal efficiency of any Collingwood player last week - 89%. He got 19 disposals to Thomas's 10. Carlton have dangerous small guys in attack + Yarran in defence. I am not so sure that Buckley is going to make way for Maxwell. Macaffer seems the more logical player to go out.
This is when stats don't tell the whole picture. I don't know how many inside 50s the Roos had but Thomas had 5 scoring shots and the goals he missed were gettable. Then with Buckley's disposal, handballing or kicking to players under pressure as long as it goes to the player is counted as effective. Not passing to players open doesn't mean squat with stats recorded.

Buckley is an OK player who has a lot of room for improvement, but to say he's good because he had 19 disposals at 89% efficiency is a bit of a stretch.

This is really difficult. But im thinking Maxwell in for Buckley. Would like to see Davis get a run, maybe even as our sub but I am not sure who he would replace, maybe macaffer?

You look at mick and his stance on dropping players in form ala Blair 2010. Blair did his role the first week he played, Mick showed faith in him by giving him consecutive games, now look at him.

I think Mick will stick with Bucks and Caff could be the one to go for Maxy. Albeit bucks could be used as a Sub.
