Spurr trained this morning with the WAFL boys, highly unlikely he would play
Fyfe,Griff in,Sandi, Lachie out
Wouldnt want to make to many changes to a winning formula

Spurr didnt train with the AFL squad yesterday and and had a run with the WAFL boys today so probably unlikely to get the call but who knows he could be a smoky

I'd be very surprised if he didn't get a call-up; waste of a rookie promotion otherwise.

Would be stupid to upgrade him without the intention of playing him. What if he gets a 5 week injury in the WAFL and one of our other rookies are tearing it up but can't be promoted.

I just cant see how fyfe will come back in.... although if he was to have surgery he would have had it done by now surely

im thinking
out: sandilands, suban
in: griffin, spurr

Noticed so far that the selections have come from the AFL squad ,the boys who trained with the WAFL group havent had a look in
Spurr had a solid session this morning with the WAFL boys

Lyon has stated that Fyfe will play.

Lyon also said Nathan Fyfe would play against the Blues after missing last week's 13-point win over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

It would certainly fit in with what's happened so far this season if Spurr wasn't selected. However, it seems odd to elevate him, if you're not planning on using him.

Tom Couch and Darren Pfeiffer are two examples of rookies who've been upgraded but didn't play straight away. Couch has been on the main list for 4 weeks now and hasn't got a game yet.

yeah i saw that, fremantle dont have the greatest record when it comes to disclosing information to the public on injured players, however under ross it might be different.... im sceptical until i see the great man run out on the night

Unless it's a warning to Subes - and a reward for Spurr

Not sure Suban would need much more of a warning. He was substituted from last weeks game because, in his coaches words, he 'wasn't getting a touch.' That's following on from a pre-season that saw him dropped for similar reasons during the NAB Cup.

Fremantle of Harvey?

Lyon has been very honest with selections this season. I'm willing to take him at his word at this stage.

If we had a potato playing in the team that needed a spell Roberton could come in for it. I really don't rate him

Considering Suban's form this year it could be a straight swap then :o

I also hope it's

IN: Fyfe Spurr Griffin
Out: Neale Suban Sandilands

I think Anthony is more likely to give way though despite a pretty good showing last week, and I'm not convinced Suban will get dropped.

I'm also glad for once that Clancee appears to be genuinely best 22 for the moment, nobody would be foolish enough to consider him for omission. Last year it would have been a straight swap with Fyfe.

Reckon Crowley will be matched up on Murphy.

Judd is harder to tag as he spends so much time inside, but he doesn't cause as much damage outside. Murphy is a much more dangerous kick, and is physically an easier match up for Crowley.

Hopefully Crowley will do a job on him this week. With De Boer hopefully picking up Gibbs (assuming he goes down back in the absence of Yarran) and Crowley on Murphy the boys can shut down two number 1 draft picks in the same week.

If Suban was dropped for another defender, it should be Grover. We're not losing anything in terms of speed or ball winning ability, but we'd be getting an actual defender. Sounds like a good swap to me.

I really want Roberton in the team, but I'd find it hard to fit him in. As for Spurr, I don't think he is that strong defensively yet, and that's what we need down back.

Roberton on Carlton small forwards?

So, Blues by 48+ and Betts to kick 5+?

Excuse my ignorance, but when do teams come out?
Was 5:00pm last season if I recall correctly. Has this been changed?
