He's not that type of player, Victorian media driven narrative.

Interstate club they would be all over it like a nun in a cucumber field.

I wonder what would be the outcome if it was Butters and not Pickett .......

ZZ for Fort a no-brainer. This is a good boost for us considering how few minutes ZZ played. I guess he was insurance for Draper but it really is a waste of a player against a fast-running team at the g.

We need a genuine back for Answerth. I don't watch 2s but Brain looked good to me in a starce type role, reading the play and intercepting, which we have really lacked this year imo. I think Brain deserves a run of games back there to prove he has improved from 2024. The mix has not been quite right this year and we conceded 100 points on the weekend. No Answerth this week will be a huge bonus, not having a go at him at all personally but he had his worst game for a long time, turned it over and 2-3 times came off his man when he had no chance of intercepting. Said it before, i would have given him longer out after that horror hit.

Sam Marshall here is your chance - looking forward to seeing him get a full game on the wing. Always good to see how someone responds when they have been out of favour. Given the way teams have been transitioning against us one repsonse could be making room for Marshall AND Berry.

Any mail on Bruce playing? If he misses it will be an interesting selection. 2s watches who would be good on a wing? I could see any off: Beecken to a wing / Torrent to mids mix / Mclachlan or Mckenna play forward and Bailey to a wing.

Despite the outs we might not actually be worse off this week, we were down a rotation very early, Answerth never looked right, and ZZ is still a bit of a liability.

I think it’s time we face the facts Unfortauntely. Gallop has played 12 games now, a couple in defence after never playing defence previously. Gallop is a BUST.
Pretty sure your joking.

I can see him, Payne and Andrews being our 3 talls next year, and beyond. Look at the matchup he mostly had yesterday, on a skillful experienced forward, opposed to Lester's match up for the most part.

It’s a suspension based on how the afl applies the rules re bumps.
interesting Elixuh. The suspension would go to Kozzie or Mihocek? it was incredibly minor contact. If anything Mihocek was standing still when Kozzie gave him a slight nudge into Mihocek. I think it'll get looked at but think the one in danger would be Mihocek over Kozzie but even then it seems more like a fine for Mihocek.

Hi Danny, good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well.

I think the problem is that the AFL says that if you choose to bump, especially if the ball is gone, the you are liable for the result. In this case it resulted in a concussion. We have plenty of examples. It’s all about the result.

I’m not commenting on whether that is right or wrong, but that’s how the afl have said they’re interpreting the rules.

It’s no different than if banana fritter, after his 6th goal in a grand final, ran up to a player and bumped them unconscious.

Out Injured: Answerth and you would think Berry with a calf. Possibly Reville
Hope Neales ankle does not blow up after the game as he was in a bit of discomfort. Came out after the break with no obvious concern but maybe got a jab.

With Berry and possibly Reville out maybe they consider McCluggage on the wing seeing they are obviously easing him back.
Last week 56% TOG this week 67% TOG. Had 15 disposals but 7 clangers. Wing gives him a bit more breathing space till the calf is 100%.
Wing will be more running.

haha yeah true. it's interesting. but to me I don't think it was really a bump. no force really. He sort of just got wedged between 2 players.

No-one got cited for the incident.

I think he changed direction to do the patented Pickett bump. I don’t hate on human missile Pickett he’s a fantastic player, but it’s a thing he does that is risky.

No mention in the MRO report. Not even an explanation weirdly. Even if he got nothing I would have preferred them to make a statement like yours on why

Lions sitting 9th with 3 wins from 6 games.
We have had better and worse starts for the race to win another premiership.

Not as bad a start as this runner though

I would say Gallop wasn’t worth putting games into down back, but I agree that we are going to need Andrews, Joyce and Lester to combat Walker, Thilthorpe and whoever they pick to play the Darcy Fogarty role.

A bigger worry is how do Fletcher, Wilmot and Coleman go against Rankine, Keays, Neal-Bullen? Chandler, K. Pickett and evens little Harry Sharp made them look third rate on the weekend. Fletcher simply refused to make anyone accountable and was more interested in trying to run forward than in defending. I pointed out some really lazy football from him in the Collingwood game a few weeks ago and he’s doubled down on that. Fletcher is a gifted footballer, but he needs to remember what the team needs from him, not what is more fun for him. Running off your man and getting on the end of a goal looks great on the highlights package but it doesn’t help if your direct opponent(s) kick 3 or 4 and we lose the game. As for Wilmot, someone needs to give him a ‘calming tablet’ because ball in hand, he looks ‘panicky’. When he was assessing his options on the weekend, especially in the third quarter when he kicked it out on the full three times trying to clear defence, he was almost guaranteed to pick the worst option. It showed how much we missed Zorko. At least Wilmot is a better defender and his courage and willingness to pressure in the air is beyond question. He just need to relax.
We really want the ball in Coleman’s hands exiting defence.
