Despite Pendles' incredible recuperative powers I doubt he'll come up.
If Rocca is 90% fit he should play, Anthony either plays as a key defender and Leigh Brown goes out for Wood, otherwise Anthony goes out. Having said that, I doubt Rocca will be able to play so:

IN: Wood, Wellingham, Goldsack.

OUT: Rocca (inj), Pendles (inj), Sidebottom.

I'd drop O'Bree if I was confident enough that Beams or Wellingham could cover for him. Based on today's performance they'd have no trouble.

This week, lets pick the best team capable of wining, as the big body theory got absolutely smashed today.

In's : Wood (cant believe he was out in the first place),
Goldsack (would have been very handy today),
Nathan Brown (if fit),
Marty Clarke
Sharrod Wellingham

Outs
Rocca (regardless of if injured or not)
McCarthy (will be a good player but wasn't ready for today - poor decision to play him and hope it doesn't damage him going forward).
Pendlebury - big blow and really hurt us today
Ben "turnover/kick to disadvantage" Johnson - great effort to get back after a broken leg, but his decision making and disposal are really hurting us at the momment.

Other possible ommissions - Leigh Brown, Shane O'Bree, Steele Sidebottom (like this kid, but not quite ready)

The other issue here is, while it might be great we play young kids, when two players are getting to a contest - neither of them pulls out their birth certificates. Opportunities to win finals and Grand Finals do not come around often...Take them when they come. Play your best side and attack the game. Horses for course is often reactive, our best is as good enough to beat anyone

Let's back ourselves!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all I have been a troll for years and finally decided to get in the game

1. Rocca needs to go he costs us mobility which and makes us predictable. Fraser plays better when we are mobile up front and pops up for a goal or two. The inj just saves the decision being made and this should have been his last game. He has been a good player but this team has moved past him. When he is is the side we play too much like Carltank.

2. Wood to come in I still cannot work out why he was dropped, his last month has been pretty good and is our future.

3. Pendles is a major loss and probably saves O'Bree from the chopping block. Daws hasnt got the skills of Pendles but is a hard ball nut and worth a try and if O'bree plays another shocker like today gives us a hard ball option.

4. I'm undecided about Dick as I dont think his body is up to finals yet but we really needed a spark up forward today and he can provide it. If the track is dry I would bring him in. I would drop McCarthy for him not a bad effort today but we need someone who can change the flow of the match and Dick brings that.

You dont want to make too many changes to a good team but if O'Bree gets dropped as well to bring in Goldsack I wouldn't complain. I like O'Bree but today was a real shocker. He wasnt alone but his mistakes in possession and the frees he gave away were horrible.

That would do me I think

Lets suck it up and be there next week to support the guys.

B: Toovey - Prestigiacomo - Maxwell
HB: Shaw - Goldsack - O'Brien
C: Lockyer - Stanley - Johnson
HF: Didak - Cloke - Thomas
F: Medhurst - Dawes - Anthony
FL: Fraser - Swan - Davis
INT: Dick - Wellingham - L. Brown - Wood

Out: Rocca (inj), Pendlebury (inj), McCarthy, Sidebottom, Fraser

In: Dawes, Wellingham, Dick, Goldsack, Wood

and maybe bring in Clarke for Beams.

Yeh Fraser does well around the ground but cant win a position i.e cant win in the ruck and cant dominate up forward.

In: Stanley, Reid, Wood, Dick, Dawes, Goldsack
Out: McCarthy, Rocca, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Lockyer, Medhurst

Six changes might seem a lot, but let's face it, this game is likely to be our last for the season, anyway. I'd like to see Stanley get a gig with Pendlebury out - one last chance, so to speak.

I'd like to give Fraser and O'Bree the flick after their dismal efforts today, but can't structurally replace them.

Ok so I've been doing some calculations, and the way i see it is... if we bring in our WHOLE vfl team we should win by 115 - 28 = 87 points this week. It's the only possible solution IMO. Drop everybody who got us there and bring in our VFL team or we will be out in straight sets!

In: Dick,Wellingham,Wood,Clarke,Dawes
Out:McCarthy,Sidey,Rocca,Pendles,Johnson

Was always a big effort if we could win with the likes of JMac,Sidey and Beams in the same team. I rate them all very highly, but with the three in it means 2 outta the 3 have to carry a big load, all are sub 25 game players.

Wellingham to replace pendles for some clearance work
Dick for some more pressure around goals
Wood for some ruck assistance
Dawes because he seems to go alright against the crows
Clarke to be thrown in the middle aswell, we need to fill the gap of pendles somehow. dids and leon go missing too much when pendles isnt there

Im a bit cut that N Brown is getting limited opportunities, we need to get more games into him, he may be the guy that can solidify himself in the team to play on the riewoldt type players in the future. L Brown cant do it and Presti struggles. We are going to have a bit of a gap there in 3 years time if we dont put the games into N Brown now.

The politics of failure have failed, we need to make them work again! (Alternatively titled; "we were winning in the second half of the season, bring that team back").

OUT: Rocca (inj.), Pendlebury (inj.), Johnson, Fraser
IN: Dawes, Wellingham, Dick, Wood

I'd like to have brought Reid in, but I think playing effectively your first game for the season is stupid, and my feeling was exactly the same regarding the Rocca inclusion. May as well bring in freakin' Rusling.

I'd have more omissions if we actually had quality players to replace them with.
Oh dear. So you're a new unrealistically negative whinger.

It was a disappointing result today because there was not one single clear winner, but there is definitely more than four quality players that did not play, and Collingwood's depth has definitely improved ithis season. All good teams depth is only good if their important players perform though, and today Collingwood could not afford to have Davis, Didak, Swan, O'Bree, Fraser, Anthony and a few others down as they were after Pendlebury was hurt so early in the match.

Jono was the only man in the first half that found some space... both Didak and Swan fed him, and the non conversion was far from his fault.

He was BOG to Half time IMO... I know crucify me!!! But you guys are kidding yourselves, drop the one man that was able to actually find space at stoppages in the first half... Please.

Jono will not be dropped... next you'll all be calling for Toovey to be dropped and that Maxwell shouldn't be Captain:rolleyes:

If finding space was a sport, I'd probably select him.

Sadly football is the sport....and he's struggling with that currently.

In: Wood, Dick, Goldsack

Out: Rocca, Pendlebury, McCarthy.

No need to panic, Sidebottom and Beams can cover Pendles, while Dick and Wood deserve a return and a shot at the finals.

Goldsack in as further backline backup, and also to provide more run off half back with Harry playing a more defensive role lately.

No more stuffing about rewarding players not EARNING their spot, This is it, last chance
Avenue. Hard calls must be made for me it is.

Out:McCarthey,Fraser,Rocca(inj)Pendles(inj)Sidebottom.
In:Wood,Dick,Goldsack,Dawes,and Stanley.

Second highest possesion getter till half time in our team... let me guess you want to drop Swannie because he kept passing it to the only player in space during that time...

Every time we lose its the same style of bagging here... Jono, Toovey or Brown. Today they all passed... whereas the guys we expect to do it every week like Didak, Swan, Davis, Fraser and Presti didnt... no one wants to drop them - don't try using Jono as your scapegoat. Jono's first half helped keep us in the game.

McCarthy and Sidebottom were way out of their league today... but lets drop Jono because its fashionable to say he should be dropped:rolleyes:

Maybe that's because this isn't a snap judgement on ONE GAME?

Swan, Davis, Didak and Presti have performed all year, and had a poor game today. That is never going to warrant omission.

Johnson has been poor for weeks on end now. It's an accumulative thing, not based on today's game alone.

Johnson gets enough of the ball, but uses it poorly.

Oh God I hope you guys win next week.

As much as I hate everything about the Collingwood organisation, I don't think I could handle another week in Adelaide if the Crows were to pass through to the Preliminary Finals. The media would go into a frenzy and their cretinous supporters would lap up the editorial rubbish like salivating dogs.

So on behalf of an Adelaide based Carlton supporter, PLEASE defeat the Crows next week (and then lose the week after :D).

How bout let's drop Jono because his errors directly resulted in at least 3-4 goals, and that's just off the top of my head. How bout let's drop Jono because his direct opponent has been near BOG in every match for a month and a half.
