Not to many positives to come out of the Bendigo game yesterday.
Nash, Slattery and Hunt didn't play due to injury, so that rules those three out. Hille and Alvey were our best two, Wilson was very good but went off with an injury. Angus was fairly solid. Put a line through Reynolds, Richards...both were very average.
In - Hille, Alvey, Monfries, Watson
Out - Henneman, Bradley, Murphy, Thomas
Hille is a given. He was impressive yesterday without being outstanding. I don't think there was much in his report, however if he goes then Allan should come in.
Alvey has been playing solid football in the two's. I know everyone wants to see the kids get a run, but Alvey deserves a go. Must reward good form. He replaces Murphy in the wing/HF role. It would be interesting to see exactly what he can give us if he plays a full game on the ground.
Thomas works hard, he was solid on Sat night, but he just doesn't do it for me. Made a few mistakes and his first option is always to handball. Monfries works equally as hard, has all the courage in the world and is a class above Thomas.
I don't know whether to make anything of Watson's injury, I think it was more of a team balance thing. He would have been extremely handy in the last quarter when our blokes couldn't get near the footy.
