Changes v Gold Coast

No changes unless players are injured or suspended. Btw Barrass will be a gun, true test will come against the Hawks.

Although I still miss McGovern

Need to fit Butler back in somewhere. The consensus is omitting one of Hutchings or Selwood for him and I'm going with that.

Will be interesting to see if we look at resting key players. It's a dicey move yes especially if your going to flirt with form but if we can have a number of key players 100% come the qualifying finals than is it a risk worth taking now?

Very much doubt we will rest any players unless they are genuinely sore and would be unlikely to run the game out and/or would aggravate any injury that they are carrying

Hill is a possible out if his shoulder is still sore and schofields calf is a concern

Butler got through the East Perth game so he'd be a near certainty to come in.

Hutchings, Selwood and Rosa are the weaker links in the side at the moment. Not a lot of midfielders pushing up from the WAFL though.

Kane Lucas says HOLA :D i get where you are coming from but Quinzy. Besides him it is really just Colledge who is yet to make an imprint at AFL level.

According to one Gold Coast supporter, we're an average no name side playing good footy.

Just reported that Gaz is out for season. Makes their midfield even thinner.

No Gaz, Prestia, Swallow or O'Meara then? Man they've copped it this year.

If Schofield misses I can see Dixon & Lynch kicking three or four each, but in turn we will probably run riot on their midfield and kick 25.

Rosa's helicopter kicks are annoying but I'd still take him over the other two. Brings intensity to the contests and works well as a wing outlet.

From what I saw at the game yesterday, you have nailed the 3 weaker links. Until Hutchings learns to hit the contest with any speed, he should be limited to just the sub role. I think Selwood just needs to go back to EP and play a game where he can get some confidence in his hand and foot skills. Rosa was annoying with some of his high passes but was not weakest 2 on Sunday by a long margin.

Hoping Schofield's calf isn't too bad, with McInness injured as well it leaves Lycett as our only tall in the WAFL and he's playing under duress as well.

Their talls will trouble us.

I swear Fox Sports don't even bother looking beyond the stats sheets when they write these shitty previews. No mention of Schofield pulling up sore, no mention of McInnes doing a hammy.

ON THE BLOCK: It would take a brave writer to put a West Coast player in this category. This writer is not courageous enough. However with a relatively easy game coming up against the Suns on the Gold Coast, Adam Simpson might be tempted to rest a few players.

ON THE CUSP: Plenty of Eagles putting their hand up for a trip to the Gold Coast after solid performances for East Perth in the WAFL. In his first game back from a wrist injury, Patrick McGinnity impressed with three goals from 23 disposals. Others to throw their hat into the selection mix included Brant Colledge (one goal and 26 disposals), Sam Butler (19 disposals), Fraser McInnes (four goals, 17 disposals and six tackles) and the returning Tom lamb (four goals and 16 disposals).

Of course they don't. On more than one occasion this year they've said that Colledge was subbed off with only 6 possessions to his name and deserves to be dropped. Obviously not taking into account the fact he actually was the sub. :P

I stopped at McGinnity :D. Whats this news of an injury to FMc. How bad is the hammy for him?

I'm trying to remain cautious about the GC game but geez I find it hard to see how the Suns walk away from this game with their dungholes the same size they were going in.

Perth Now reporting Schofield and McGovern (no surprise there) to miss GC game.

Butler in for Schofield ?

Article actually says nothing about why Schoey is likely to miss, other than that he was subbed off with a calf strain (which is unconfirmed)
