Surely we can bring in somebody who offers more than a Hutchings or a Selwood?

Such a shame Duggo is gone for the season.

Maybe, but I'd say we're in a pretty good position when there's only one or two players on the ground who aren't offering much. Most teams have several players who could be on the chopping block week in and week out.

I don't think Hill has looked very good the last two weeks. Maybe give him a week off just to let that shoulder recover, and give Newman a run.

I thought Hutchings was average. He just constantly slams it on the boot (granted he gets lucky sometimes and hits a target) but there are just crucial moments he ****s up. He'd be a liability in the 21 come finals.

Hill should be on warning. Effort or gtfo.

Rosa, Selwood and Hutchings all looked a class below today. Have to work them out of the side.

Why even play Hutchings today if he was going to play on a HFF? Newman would have been the smarter choice.

Hill was trash today too.

OUT: Hill, Rosa/Selwood/Hutchings (can't decide which; make one the sub)
IN: Newman, Butler

Hutchings is a throwback to the Worsfold days, hopefully he gets de listed at the end of the season

Unfortunately Newman didn't play this weekend. Which always detracts from his chances of playing next week even if Hill was again utterly useless.

Out: Rosa the pie machine.
In: Butler how would you like it served.

I'm with you I've been saying it for a long time, but I just don't see what he adds to the team. I know we've got Injuries, but moving forward (next year etc) I'd be damn pissed if he got a game ahead of any of the young kids.

Hutchings was reasonable.

For me the issue with Hutchings are his hands. He ejects the ball from his hands at a million miles an hour and they simply don't go to where you want them. When you have players reaching for fast hand passes it puts them behind the ball or off balance and the flow on effects to the disposal chain is really bad, you go from getting away and generating uncontested ball to having messy contested ball with lots of lateral hand passes to players on the back foot. Shame Duggan is injured, as he's just silk by hand.

We really need to weed these sorts of players out of the game.

Hutchings to sub. Actually has a reasonable impact as sub with his tackling.

Hutchings had the most score involvements today
Saw that stat, was surprised to see him leading (At that point) with 8 scoring involvements for the game.

Still think we can comfortably rotate him out.

Probably just -

Out: Hill
In: Newman

Would be nice if Cavka,Duggan,Maggi etc were all fit. Don't think Hutchings,Selwood and Rosa would be in the 22 as often.

Hutchings is servicable, but guys like Sheed and Yeo have gone way past him.
Case in point was Hutchings getting tackled and flinging out a handball to a teammate, missing by a mile.
On contrast, Sheed was on a 1v2, gets the ball and under immense pressure somehow gets it perfectly to Gaff.

Actually wasn't too displeased with selwood's game today. Did some nice things, which he seems to have a knack for doing when he comes on as the sub and the game is pretty much over. Still though, credit where it is due, was definitely one of his better games this year.

Exactly. Better to add more class and x factor than sticking with safe.
