Not already up?

I know there is a long time to go and some WAFL to be played but never too early.

These players are locks IMO:

Sheppard McGovern Hurn
Wellingham Schofield Ellis
Masten Priddis Gaff
LeCras Darling Hill
Cripps Kennedy Sinclair*

Naitanui Yeo Shuey

Int to come from:

1 defender: Butler, Rosa or Nelson - I'd pick Butler

2 mids: Rosa, Sheed, Duggan and Selwood - I'd pick Sheed and Duggan

Sub: Rosa IMO.

Hard to see them dropping Selwood though. Tough decisions for the MC.

*if Lycett dominates WAFL he may start to put some pressure on Sinclair.

Selwood almost certainly won't be dropped. The coaching staff will back in that his disposal is just rust and he will get better as the season goes on.

There are numerous calls to drop Selwood and I think there are 2 key reasons he is looking bad.

1. He is rusty and should of had time back in EP to get his skills up. Never going to be great but can get better than current.
2. Our game plan has gone up a level and more precise passing is required. Even an in-form Scooter will be struggling.

VC or not - he looked the weakest link last night.

Suma's starting 18 is spot on and agree with the qualification that lycett comes in for Sinclair once he finds form in the WAFL

Sheed, rosa, butler, selwood, Nelson and duggan all have claims for a spot in the 22 but 6 into 4 doesn't go

Barass next in line as KPD, mcinness as KPF.

Benell is cover as a small defender, Hutchings/colledge as a mid and Newman as a small forward

As a functional squad of 30 that's pretty good

Don't care just no selwood.
Sheed provides way more and he's a 2nd year player.

The traits you expect to get from scooter, hard nosed, tough, in and under, are all myths.
They really aren't myths.

He went hard into contests last night. He threw himself straight into a few to try and win the ball, and knocked a few richmond players out of the way.

He might not be able to kick for shit but he goes in hard.

Tough at team to crack at the moment, always a good thing.

Butler has been excellent and is Best 22 so they'll need to find a spot for him.

Rosa is a complete pro, we are better team with him in the line up.

Has Ellis proven his worth? - A clear upgrade on Bennell from the first 10 games so I think he's stays and he's obviously a Simpson favourite.

My guess...Liam Duggan will be given a spell for Sammy Butler - then it will be all eyes on Scott Selwood.

OUT: Selwood, Sinclair
IN: Butler, Lycett

Butler in for Selwood allows Yeo to play more midfield time.
Didnt think Sinclair offered us much last night, apart from relieving Nic Nat in the ruck

Did Nic play like 95 percent of the game in the ruck? I saw him more times there then I ever have. He would normally ruck 50 percent of the time but I swear I saw him 85 percent of the time or when it was crucial.

Ellis clearly makes us a better team.

Hopefully schoey is right to go after the bye.

Fitting butler is going to be tough, but he's definitely best 22.

Except when he needed to, like when Vickery made him look weak as piss when Selwood tried to tackle him, and then Vickery waltzed away easily to kick the goal.

Barrass needs to come in versus Melbourne to get some experience under his belt because at some point we will need him to cover Gov or Schofield and at least we can see what he can do when the time comes we actually need to play him or decide we are better off going small as he is not yet up to it.
