Tambling had another ineffectual, soft, crap game.... 12 disposals at 50% efficiency.
His only goal came from a hugely over-staged free kick that was quite frankly embarassing.
:rolleyes:AND we've never been the victim of a poor decision in front of goal??
Basically made up for the one he was denied earlier that should have went his way!

Pattison to come in for us or the Saints?? :)

I also think Jackson might have one more week of suspension, but could be wrong.

Webberly might be due a rest. Foley will surely come in so someone has to take one for the team.

If this is our home game, then why the **** is it being played at Etihad?? The AFL just go out of their way to spoon feed the Dogs and Saints games at this joint:thumbsdown:
i think you would find the saints and their supporters would also love the chance to play this game at the mcg, last year we only had one game at the mcg and this year we have only got two.

Jacko and Conners both have one more week, was almost nice to see that wanker, Brown , out for six.
Having Conners, Foley and Jackson all back soon is a HUGE bonus for the 2nd half of the year.

Cuzz and Richie will also be a bit more match conditioned by then too.

And if Morton, Polo and McMahon can get their acts together, for the first time in a few years we may have a genuine 25/26 players deserving a game and competing for a spot in our best 22

I’m going for a different slant as I have no idea how Dimma and the Match Committee will be approaching this game.

Option 1- Reward the players for a superb job

In - Simmo (retirement)
Out - Polak (unlucky)

Option 2- Reward the players for a superb job and Foley 100% ready to play.

In - Simmo Foley
Out - Polak Nason (Rest, as it’s his time)

Option - 3 Sticking phat to a pre planed structure. With the faster Etihad we will need a fresh team after that amazing 258 tackle slog, that will drain any team, especially our young ones, and we have only a 6 day break coming off a road trip. Dimma said they deliberately went small because of the conditions, so I would assume he will reverse that with the perfect undercover conditions of Etihad.

Out - Polak Nason Nahas Moore ----- (all rested)
In - Simmo Thursty Foley Rance ----- (Rance to tag Goddard)

Sorry to barge in but I don't understand dropping (or "resting") Nason. If a guy like Stephen Hill can come into a struggling team last year and play 22 games, I think Nason would be just fine.

Unless in horrendous form (which he is obviously not), Richmond should be playing him along with the other young guys whenever possible.

Dimma has made no secret he is resting all the players. People are puzzled by Melbourne resting Scully and Trengove for the Cats game, but Dimma set the scene with Martin and Cotcin rested againsed them.

He said in the after match this week (these are on the Tiger site) that Vickery is being rested until after the long break, and Martin will be rested again in the middle of the second half. Nason has played every game so far and is an amazing gut runner who is due for his rest. Kel Moore has also played every game and puts in 100% every week, and as Thurstfield was rested (im assuming this) last week, he will come in for Moore (im also just assuming this).

Dimma wants as many games in the kids, but he is smart and wont burn them out. Trend setter is our Dimmer:thumbsu:

Its a bit like the cricket one dayers, every one went off when we started resting and rotating, but now its the norm all over the world.

Slightly off topic, but does Etihad still charge premium price for level 1 behind the goals? I remember it used to be like $15 for an adult then i went there early last year and to find it was double??

No way does Nason 'deserve' a rest this week. Kicked 3 goals in torrid conditions. You dont reward a player kicking a quarter of your score by dropping him.

Hey maybe JR8 needs a rest too... hmmm.

Polak. Conditions didnt suit, but he is the logical choice to make way for Snake, unless Griff needs a week to mend. Maybe give Griff the next 2 weeks, and the bye off, but let him know he's straight back in for Rnd 13. Give him the taste, and let him feed the hunger for the next three weeks. Only if he's carrying a cork tho. On debut in that puddle, he deserves another go this week.

King: Still seems to give away silly free kicks that shouldnt be given away, but Ive liked his game lately too. Cannot drop on form.

Collins: Id 'Leg' him before King this week, although he too could be good against St.Kilda.

Geez really tough choices this week. We almost tripled Port's score... A genuine shellacking/thrashing and the team played as a unit.

Someone said bring in Rance to tag Goddard. Id rather see Lids go head to head with him.

Tough week at the selection panel and pity for any player who misses out, but on performance(and weather played a part) the only one I can see as a gimme out is Polak.

Nason is due for a rest as he has played every game so far. But it would be cruel to reward him with that after his performance yesterday.

King will no way in a million years be dropped, he was fantastic yesterday, one of our best.
Not only that King played as a tagger, are we going to ask Foley to tag someone?

Some peoples stupidity gets in the way of rational judgement.

Polak out Simmo in Foley in Tambling out

I thought Polak was ok in a game not suited to big men last week. I also think people are getting too sentimental for Simmonds. Unless I hear otherwise, he is retired and wont play another game.

Still not sold on King, but *someone* must make way for Foley. Only other option is Webberly IMHO.

By the way, we should have 'injured' Simmonds (put on LTI list) and elevated Gourdis. We did this a few years ago with Ray Hall I think it was. Though I think the AFL take a dim view of this... As to whether they could prove it is another matter, or what sanctions they could impose if caught.

I also don't think Nason needs a rest unless it is for 'general soreness'. He's a bit older than the others and that makes a difference.

Yep still the premium price because reserved seat holders kicked up a stink that they were paying the premium price for level one seats when walk ups were only paying $15-20 to fill it up to look good on TV.

So Etihad stadium were basically seen to be cannibalising their own market I guess with everyone knowing to wait until gameday so they could get in for cheap instead of reserving a seat early, and thus stopped the practice to please members and gain some extra revenue if people do want to be on level 1 instead of level 3.

In: Foley, Simmonds, Morton
Out: King, Polak, Nason

Heavy track, six day break, hard track means Nason gets freshened up for the winnable game against the Eagles. Morton comes in because he's best 22, was in Coburg's best so presumably he's played the way they want him to. Let's face it, we're not going to beat St Kilda. If we want to beat West Coast these are the changes we should make.

Then for the Eagles,
In: Connors, Jackson, Nason, Polak/Browne
Out: Simmo, TBA
