Well, if Ryan and Masten are truly ready, then that changes things. If not, there's no point ringing changes beyond Shuey coming in.

Shuey doesn't come in for a KPF - they will just shuffle things around - Waterman will play Darlings role, Ah Chee will play Watermans role more or less - Shuey will play in the midfield as per usual.

Problem with that is they are then 1 fwd down on rotation with an extra mid. I think it throws team balance out as they like to put Rioli and even Lecca through the guts at times but you can't have Shred or Hutch up forward butchering it. I would be very surprised indeed if they swap Shuey for Darling.

Ryan hasn’t played since round three. It is extremely unlikely West Coast will play him straight in the seniors without at least one game in the WAFL.

I would argue that if you move the ball quickly at the SCG you need two tall marking forwards.

I would expect Brander to come in for Darling (McInnes could be a smokey) and Shuey for Nelson.

Yeah.. nah. The number of posters on here expecting multiple changes suggests I'm clearly not on my own.
I haven't suggested we must bring in another tall, just another forward. Ryan or Petro would be my picks but I wouldn't be surprised if Brander comes in.
With Shuey back, one of Sheed or Hutch will go- bookmark it, put your last dollar on it, whatever. We really don't want to carry Hutch and Sheed in the same team if we don't have to. Lately it has been out of necessity. Sheed being dropped for Shuey only to be reinstated last week is a pretty obvious indication of the MCs thinking on this.
Shuey coming in to join Yeo, Redden and Gaff in the middle means one of those 2 are surplus to our needs.

He Strijks me as dominant when he has lots of space to lead into, but won’t have the frame to deal with wrestling defenders, which I assume will be the case given how small the SCG is?

In WAFL finals Peel went after him and he was quiet.Totally different environment to be sure, but we are down one big body in Darling to feed off.He is extremely talented but sorry he is not a NN or Rioli.

Hutch has at least played forward recently, taken good marks up there and been in good positions to score but just messed up his kicks. The following week he didnt miss his opportunity at goal so i'd back Hutch over Shred as a forward any day if need be.
Ideally Ryan comes in and Waterman shifts to Darlings role with Ah Chee in Watermans role, and Shuey just slots straight in to the midfield. When Ryan is ready then we can look at dropping the next underperforming player or whoever we need to for team balance.

We have got this far by not being afraid to ring the changes.If Brander deserves his spot;play him!! If we feel Ryan is ready to come straight in;play him! We cant blink now!We are on a roll and everyone that comes into the team knows that not performing will have you out on your arse double quick.Brander wants a game,Petrol wants a game ,Ryan wants a game,Venables will be looking soon.Fight for your spot, we cant afford to get comfortable this early.

Sheed has played fwd in the past and has looked alot more natural and effective than Hutch, he leads well and can take a contested mark, also kicked alot of goals in U18s. But you wouldn't play him permanent fwd anyway especially with the fwd depth we have atm.

Agree on the shuffle you mentioned with Waterman playing Darlings role also im not against giving Brander a debut.
