Those saying all Rockliff's possessions are meaningless are kidding themselves. He's the smartest ball user in our side and he hits more targets than anyone else in our side. If we had more guys with as good a vision and hands we'd be a far more effective midfield. He seems to be one of our only players that kicks to our players advantage. I may not be so sure that he's our best option as captain going forward, but I have no doubts about his output

Don't worry about him mate. Instead of giving honest opinions about how terrible our club is they would prefer to pick fights with other posters.
The worst part for us is it's not a single problem, there are five things I see as an issue which all need to be fixed and shuffling the deckchairs isn't going to help.

1. Leppitsch is out of his depth, no plan B, skills going backwards and list the playing group.
2. Leigh Mathews is helping. He's blinded by his own ego that selected Leppa and has been a destablising influence at board level since before elected. Needs to go from the board and football director.
3. Facilities are worst in league and need desperate upgrade. Now not in 5 years as we seem to be taking.
4. Selection, we're back to picking favourites and players well out of position. You just make life harder when players aren't where they should be.
5. The whole board. It's hopeless, some are blaming Swann, but when your board is fighting and has vested interests in some of the decisions we make its way to easy to blame Swann his hands are tied.

Over the last two weeks he has hit the opposition on the tit at least 5 times that have lead directly to goals. He clearly isnt right and not moving well, but he hits targets generally because he short passes. Dangerfield gets the same amount of disposals and rips games apart where rocky just accumulates.

Totally different players. Dangerfield has speed and power that Rockliff could only dream of,he doesn't have the physical ability to be that sort of player. If he had any kind of support in the current soft midfield we have now it might help. I think the calls to drop him and him being one of our worst are embarrassing.

I dont think he should be dropped but clearly he is physically struggling, as was Bell and Hanley but people just want to jump all over them.

My point with the short passes was he plays it safe a lot and if he took it on more he may not have as a high a %age efficiency but he could be a lot more damaging.

I understand what you mean about taking the high risk, high reward option, but I like fact he takes the safer option and still seems to keep the ball moving through the corridor, rather than the long bomb to a 50/50. His kicking is short, but it's very clever IMO. Anyway

So you don't want to face reality of we're crap and going nowhere anytime soon.

If you believe we are on the right path tell me what us better than when Leppa took over.

Spewing the same stuff in multiple threads, irrespective of context, just makes this site even more unreadable. You want to keep grinding your axe, go right ahead. But how about you use the thread/s that are at least somewhat related to your repetitive, emotional and poorly-articulated views.

Im not talking about bombing it, more trying to get more penetration on the kick. But there are other factors the way WC defend means you are trying to move it laterally and around the edge, so I can understand as a team (not specifically Rocky) we chipped it around last week.

Absolutely!

Love these videos.

I really like to see that players who've missed out on a spot (or are likely to) are still pumped for the debutant. Particularly the likes of Dawson, Paine and Reuben in this one. It says to me that:

a. they recognize that a senior game is a privilege and isn't something they are entitled to
b. they're supporting eachother and recognizing effort.

Maybe the single best thing about this year is that the players seem to be united (so far) despite pretty grim circumstances.

As a young player you would be looking at it and going I am only 3-4 weeks of good footy from getting a seniors game. That will start to push up.

Great video on the hammer debut announcement, is it hipwood that does the double fist pump?
Good to see the boys pumped for him and I look forward to watching him play for the first time!!!

Internally, the players look like they've just won a premiership - great spirit and camaraderie.

If they truly can stick together for a handful of years - who knows.

Why wouldn't they be happy? Intensely mediocre, overpaid, underperforming footballers, who because of a market that no-one willingly comes to, have completely undeserved tenure.
You say "great spirit and camaraderie," I say, taking the piss.
