Walker terrifies me.

North don’t have any real good KPD.

IF we can play like we did for 2nd and 3rd Qtrs we are always a Chance. Just have to play like that longer

After the Crows kicking that score today we should just keep the same back-line players that played against the bears

Walker is going to tear us a new one next week.. can already see it coming.

We should be able to keep Betts and Cameron relatively quiet. The midfield battle should be pretty even
He was good today (especially for my SC) that is why we have to cut off supply to him. Maybe a Toovey or Frost match up?

I suspect Brown will go to him first and Frost to Jenkins. Walker far far too strong for Toovey.

Brown - Walker

Frost - Jenkins

Toovey - Lynch

Williams - Betts

Sinclair - Cameron

Then either Ramsay or Oxley takes another midfielder who rotates through the forward line, the other is dropped.

I think pressure will be the key. We must be manic or they will cut us to ribbons and delivery the ball to Walker and Jenkins on a platter. Will not matter what our defenders do, if the pressure in the midfield is not there they will kick 100+ and it will be game over.

Frost should be able to go with him on the lead, but might not be able to match him for strength. Conversely, Brown can match him for strength but might not be able to go with him up the ground.

Toovey is more a fit for Lynch.

The only reason I didn't suggest Brown was that I see him more of a body on body backman and that Walker is very quick and doesn't mind going up field. Bit like Cloke does.

Played well, can't ask for more then that.

Form wise he is in the 22 off last night but will it last? that is the question and will his weakness be exposed like previous years.

If he continue and improve on lasts nights game then no one will call for his dropping.
I doubt he improves and will most likely revert back to the norm in standard conditions.

What really irks me about these boards are the short memories some have. Yes Blair played well on the weekend but we all know that he is a good performer in wet conditions and against bottom four sides. Just because he's played one good game doesn't absolve him of his form the last few seasons where he averages about 15 possessions per match and contributes little to the scoreboard; or the fact that he gets found out against quality opposition sides.

The arguments for Blair being dropped aren't due to some deep seeded hate of the bloke. It's due to the belief that his performances in recent years have not justified selection and he has stood in the way of younger and more talented players getting opportunities in the senior team. Even his most strident supporters would have to concede that he doesn't have much scope for improvement as a player. Given where our club currently sits on the ladder (that is around 8th spot with no realistic chance of competing for premiership) the focus should primarily be on players who do have the scope for improvement that will move out team up the ladder.

For the record, I think Blair is useful depth and am more than happy to see him play when there are injuries or the conditions suit - like on the weekend. With the entire list available, however, it would be retrograde for him to be selected on a consistent basis. It irritates me that after one win where he performs well you get sniped for holding a legitimate opinion on this board. Especially when there is no justification for those disagreeing other than lol jargon like "intensity" or "forward pressure". I

Who else does Brown go on? Jenkins is their other tall and he is more agile than Walker.

Whatever we do we are gonna be in lot of trouble if Walker is on, our KPD stocks are pretty concerning.

Yes, I would put him against Jenkins as he doesn't tend to roam as much.
Anyway, if our mids and Langdon and co do their job, may not be an issue. Cut off supply if we can.

Frost will have to take Walker. I think both he and Jenkin are too mobile for Brown so we should just give Frost to the most dangerous one and hope Jenkins has an off game. Think the other matchups are pretty correct though.

Frost is a good size and has the speed to match it with Walker. Jenkins might be a bit big for Brown he but should do alright as Jenkins is good but not amazing. I'm more concerned with the clearances, Jacobs got smashed by Goldstein today and Adelaide still dominated inside, and whilst Grundy had a great game it's safe to assume Jacobs will get a hold of him.

Frost to take Walker. He played on him last year and although Walker was on the comeback from his knee injury he did an excellent job. Frost is stronger than he appears and has done the job on big men like Franklin.

Adelaide and Walker were great today, but don't underestimate the advantage they get from playing at the cauldron that Adelaide oval has become.

And as Dave said. North's main weakness is their KPD's. Fingers crossed we can cut off their supply and Walker will be less of a factor.

When Franklin had no support...

Anyways for mine Brown takes the one closest to the goal square.

I'm thinking one change only, Steele out for Broomhead. Like for like. I'd start Oxley as the sub. De Goey deserves a crack at starting on the ground.

Broomhead or Freeman or De Goey would be more Steele’s Replacement

I haven't seen enough of Freeman yet admittedly, but I think he has a bit of work to do first before he earns a spot. Broomhead, Kennedy or Dwyer should be the ones considered to replace Steele.

Broomhead be the 1 out of those 3. Dwyer hurt his Ankle and Kennedy was tad quiet vs Casey

Buckley said at the presser that he doesn't think De Goey has the legs yet to play 100 minutes if he does play it sounds like it will be as the sub for most of this season unless we suffer another injury crisis.

I like the idea of Brown on Walker. I think Brown has the strength to match him. What frustrates me about Brown is he is supposedly one of our quickest players (according to testing) but plays from behind and gets lead to the ball. He seems to have a lot of chest marks taken against him. Always annoyed me. He played very well against Riewoldt in both 2010 GF's but in Rielwoldts defense he copped some poor delivery with a lot of kicks going over his head.

If that's the case then he probably needs to build his fitness in the VFL.
