Looks scared?

He would have been the only player out there today willing to run the lines and try and create, the other players were scared not Tambling.
I'm talking about contests. He shirks them.

Tambo has made a slight improvement, but is still spasmotic playing maybe 20-30 min then floating out of the game. Still need to recapture his u/18 form that elevated him to the draft gun.
To do that he'll have to go back to playing against second rate u/18s. He plays 10 good minutes a week.

Pettifer laid 6 tackles and set up a couple of goals. Had 20+ touches and took a few good marks. Far from being dropped.

hyde and edwards are a couple of obvious casualities, hydey got us off to a marvelous start with a brain fade in opening minute that is becoming a trademark and edwards looks a little lost when roming the midfield right now

Connors/collins/Casserley/Jacko for those spots

Patto has been going up and down on one spot this year...for everything he does right he tends to offset with a stuff up...Polak perhaps should be given another crack as second string ruck option

Our emerging tall forward optionjs are the worry, aside from richo we barely took a mark I50 today....we're developing a quality midfield pack with few options to kick it to:eek:

Lies, damn lies and statistics. He should never play again.

Thats your opinion.

But wait your wrong, stats dont lie. :)

Terry dropped him due to poor defensive skills. In the past 2 weeks he has laid 9 tackes. Terry would be having a word to petts saying keep it up and you will have a spot for the year, and remain on the list.

And on a side note, you should look at his facial expressions, the way he tries and tries to get the ball, may not look like it but he gives 100% that may not count for much for any of you people. But for me it does.

Richo has the biggest heart at the club he loves playing for us every week.

Pettifer being second.

Why should terry have word to him about it,he should be doing this every game he plays and not when his career is on the line.

I never said that.

Terry would've let him know what needs to be done for him to keep his spot in the team, and Kaynes been doing that. He's safe.

What I'm saying to you is kayne should have been doing all those things before and not when terry spoke to him.

bring back tiv rads are you #@$!ing crazy. the guys is a hack, if you cant realise this after all these years you must have your head up your arse.

Maybe so, but i believe in giving players a chance if they've been playing well at the lower level and tivs been doing that. Give him a game, if he's shit get rid of him again and never look back.

Pettifer was given another chance and he's doing his job.

Kayne has expectations, Terry tells him what those expectations are.

Simple.

What?, the RFC and the supporters have expectations and it seems pettifer only meets those when he is dumped to the magoos or his career is on the line.

We will see. Only time will tell.

Any player in his position would be trying his heart out for his career.

But what most supporters don't realise is that they aren't players, they don't know what it's like to play the game.

If Kayne can kick 35+ goals a season, lay 3-5 tackles a game then i reckon he is safe. In the past 2 weeks he's had 44 touches, taken 15 marks, kicked 2 goals laid of about 5, laid 9 tackles. What more can you ask from him?

Not too keen on Pettifer either but there were plenty worse than him today. We turned the ball over so poorly coming out of the backline it was embarassing.

Give Wallace dues for persisting with King and Hyde but surely today was enough. Also thought McMahon was rubbish much of the day - turning the ball over too much or putting it to team mates where there was little advantage or run. He just isn' the answer either and hope like hell he is just a stop-gap until one of the youngsters comes through to replace him.

Kingy needs a run in the magoos to get his cinfidence back and develop his game more.

Outs Hyde King Pattison

Haven't seen Coburg so not going to comment on In but will probably include Tivva as much as I don't want to see it. Have any of the kids done enough to actually ignore his form. Like the idea of elavating Cartledge to see what he has

If you follow Wallace's criteria to the letter Tivendale does deserve to be recalled but I think Wallace and most of us know there hasn't been any genuine improvement from him and he'd be the exact same player at AFL level now as when he was dropped. Clearly above VFL level but an ordinary AFL player, there's been plenty of them.
We could make a tonne of changes this week but it wouldn't really help our cause. We had a shitty week where we got ahead of ourselves and got blasted for it. Hyde for Connors, I reckon, we need to get AFL games into him soon as possible. Tuck to be our full-time tagger.

Great input.
Your not making sense the RFC is looking towards building a side good enough to win a premiership, which I'm affraid will not include Tivendale and I have for 3-4 years wondered what benefit he is in the process of developing that premiership side, he should never play AFL again.
After seeing a few other views I agree that Cogs obviously needs to be put on the long term list and allevate a player they are looking at. I am still amazed that McMahon keeps on getting under the radar, he is no good and we will never be a good side with him in there because he is a seriously weak link who is terrible against reasonable opposition and when the games in the balance, also he is in the place of a Connors, Casserly, Rance, McGuanne, JON and Morton all of which have not been given enough game time and have their future in front of them.

I'd say Hyde will be out, Goodes smashed him. I thought Tuck did well on Kirk.

Pettifer will be on thin ice IMO. Bowden's tackles were crap but he was good in everything else. Johnson out injured.

Would Tuck be able to get 35 touches + 5 goals at Coburg?

Not in my lifetime.

Tivendale isn't going to carry us forward but neither will Tuck.

Tiv is the lesser of two evils and his attitude at Coburg should be rewarded over Tuck's failures.

We should not be picking a side that might win a couple more games. We should be picking a side that will be challenging for a premiership in 2011.
That means:
We must play Edwards, Riewoldt, Thursfeld, Connors, Cotchin, Tambling, Deledio, Foley, Collins, Casserly, JON, Hughes, Schultz, Morton, Polo Jackson and probably Polak. Pattison should be persevered with for now.
We must also get game time into Rance, Putt, Gourdis and elevate Collard.
Veterans that can stay included Richo, Newman, Brown and Simmo.
Those who don't have the game to win us a cup are:
Tivendale
Pettifer
Bowden
Johnson
Hyde
Tuck.
These players need to be chopped at the end of the year either via retirement or trade or delisting.

No wonder Parkin went off his head the other night about our team selection. And he was dead set correct!!!

Finally someone else that is looking at the big picture, the thing on their side, is that at the moment Johnson and Tuck are saving some lighter frames of the younger players. which I would retain. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
