Prediction Changes vs. Brisbane

Atley would be the most stiff to miss out on selection i reckon. He's a straight obvious swap for Toumpas or Ah Chee in my opinion. Atley has had a superb month.

I'm not at melt point over Doogs, i rate him and want him in, which will happen soon but perhaps lets see if he can back up that performance. He's only had the one game up forward is that correct?. Ditto Young - should be made to play at the very least 2 strong games in a row, this isn't the first time he has been dropped.

The semi-final against Freo is remembered a little too fondly as it is because of the comeback. We were getting absolutely belted in the first half but they couldn't convert (kicking 6.11) which kept us in it.

Swings and roundabouts.

You could argue strongly that we played better the week after.

The comeback is why i love that final, more than the Richmond EF (maybe i should shift this comment to unpopular thread), it was one of our best wins ever. When is the last time we've come back like that against a side? I want to watch that game again.

A glimmer of hope, perhaps? Dougal get's a small mention, but the article is hilariously about Young.

lol @ young being impossible to leave out but Howard is just "pressing his claim".

Port forward 'nearly impossible' to leave out: Hinkley

PORT Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley says it's "nearly impossible" to overlook forward Aaron Young for Saturday's game with the Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval.

The Power have forecast up to three changes in response to their embarrassing 70-point loss to Essendon last weekend.

Young did everything he could to force his way back into the side after collecting 37 possessions and kicking five goals in Port Adelaide's 128-point thumping of SANFL whipping boys West Adelaide who are winless this season.

"We’ll make some changes, there’ll be more than one, and whether that’s one, two or three, we’ll sift through that in the next day or so," Hinkley said on FIVEaa on Tuesday night.

Does that mean 1 + ( one or two or three) changes or is that Ken backtracking and meaning really only one?

He's literally covered all bases in that response. It was as bad as saying "Well make changes. Maybe 1, maybe 2, maybe 3, maybe 4 - we'll see."

"He’s getting really close 'Dougs', we like him, and he’s coming off an ACL and we only just pushed him forward the last couple of weeks," Hinkley said.
"I think that’s probably where he plays when he comes into the AFL side.
"My first thought is he probably needs another week or two to keep doing what he’s been doing because he’s only had a week or two in the front half.
"The boys had a pretty dominant display against Westies, so it’s a bit hard to judge too much on one sample size.
"If he plays again this week against Sturt it will be a good opportunity to see where Dougal is at - I hope he’s ready to just about break the door down."

Based on Saturday's and then Sunday's effort, there must be more than 1 change. Young for Toumpas just won't cut it

To me it means they definitely have one change in mind - probably Ah Chee for Young.

Now they have to go through match committee to decide on how many additional changes will be done, with the aim that at least one additional change to the aforementioned will be made.

What annoys me the most is Dougal has been played back as we are top heavy in the forward half and now he has to prove himself by stringing consecutive good performances in the snafl  What tripe.

So Young, cannot ignore on form from last game.

Dougal however, I need to see more, one game isnt enough.

My eyes rolled so hard I got whiplash.

Out: soft performances particularly robbie gray who is a stager for free kicks

In: good old port footy
It makes me wonder if coaches actually take the offending players aside i.e. Robbie and Chad and explain a few f###g home truths about their acting. If it continues (next game and at any time in the future) you will play in the maggies...end of story. Acting for frees is one of the most selfish ego centric acts a player can do and is not TEAM orientated, full stop. Shape up or f####k off. That is why I like , yes early days, the likes of Ollie, SPP, Atley, Drew, Marshall, Doogs, Hewett etc

RESPONDING TO WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE FIELD

GAMEDAY TACTICS

This is the huge part unfortunately regardless of the list or how hard they work
Yeah, but it is fixable and one would hope a work in progress.
