If Monfries didn't get injured, it was him instead of Neade. Dougal is definitely best 22 in the eyes of the coaches and will be in shortly. He is coming back from a knee reco and is barely hitting that 12 month mark. Give him a couple of weeks and he will be in the team, just relax lads lol.

Neade in is so predictable. Ken is his no 1 fan and he obviously sees something no one else can see. Neade's recall was on the cards after his performance against South and when he followed it up against West last week he was always going to get a gig. Two good performances is all Ken needs (pardon the pun) to put Jake back in the side.

Toumpas is not the player I thought he could be and his omission is not surprising.

I do not subscribe to the view that Pittard is gone. I think Ken had a statement to make and chose Jasper when he really should have picked Hartlett for the drop.

Good to see Houston back as he has a bit going for him.

While I don't agree I can see the logic behind holding Howard back. With Kochie guaranteeing Ken is coaching next year he has job security so why not pick Atley or Palmer and see what they can do. He knows what Hartlett, Neede etc can do which is be inconsistent and go missing when the pressure is on.

Bassett saying they want more forward pressure. Said that Neade's numbers are much better than 3 years ago. Said if Neade doesn't kick goals he needs to be absolutely outstanding in his forward defensive pressure, which they are expecting. AhChee left out as they were asking him to do a role that he doesn't really have the attributes for (sigh)... I'm guessing they are wanting Howard to show lots of defensive pressure in next few games in SANFL prior to a call up. Atley etc. and Arch might not get in for a while while our current big mids are performing.
