How Atley has not earnt a run is beyond me.

We were't thrashed in the middle. We were thrashed in midfield transition.

Essendon was able to play through Ollie, Brad, SPP and Ah Chee's men because they are all slow on the chase. We play too many big inside mids, which makes us vulnerable to fast transition from half back. How many times did you see heppel, merret collier etc just burning past/away from the aforementioned? Too bloody often.

l am not a hater. I respect their ability. Each one brings something to the table. In my opinion each one has ability..They wear our jumper they get my respect.

I get that Ken has a structure and a game plan and needs to look at who, what and how each player fits into it.The wise heads here help me see that.

My issue is (right now for this game and in the context of where we sit) each of those players has multiple tried and fails next to their name. Not once but multiple.Does not mean they wont make it but yep.Tried and failed.

Right here right now where is the harm in having an Atley or a Bonner or a Palmer or a Drew or a.... Not all of them. Maybe just one of them. In relation to this game and where we sit right now. We carry probably one of those four named in this week's ins and outs every other week (and as Ken says you don't win or or lose on one player).

So we win by 70 points after two good quaters with our disposal and our goalkicking is still shite and Neade or Young kick two goals between them with two tackles. Ken regains his trust?.Achee has 35 touches kicks 6 and takes mark of the year for the maggies. Young goes out Achee comes in.

But what have we learnt. What have we gained that we didn't have last week or last year.

There is my frustration. That is why I am on team melt.

Too many times we have been told I have trust I have trust. Tell me, show me where they have earnt it.Beating GWS ?, Beating Adelaide ?,Beating Geelong?, turning up last week?

I am not a sack them all drop them all kind of guy. It can't and shouldn't happen (not where we sit from a ladder squad etc position).

What I ask for is hope. That gets me to the games.That gets me through a bad week a bad month a bad season.

With greatest respect to Brisbane we should beat them even with a slightly unbalanced team with a Howard or a young player in it or maybe the excitement of a debutant.

Beating Brisbane does not get you the players trust back Ken and it sure as hell doesn't get the fans trust back. That starts the following week away from home and the next week and the next.

I will be there disappointed but backing my team. Go Ports.

Trengove back as an actual KPD and Hammer out (instead of Pittard) would've been my preference.

Sometimes you've got to strike while the iron is hot and blood an in-form kid in a role we could really really do with filling. Brisbane at home would be a nice little test to integrate him back into the side.

Yep, first game away from home on an all australian player against a team that played in a gf the previous year. Rampe did nothing that game..
2nd game we dominated and he got a couple with 5 shots on goal, 3 tackles
3rd game a showdown, the toughest test for a player in his third game, had a quiet game but still hit the board for a goal... dropped.. never to return it seems..
Gone back and kicked goal after goal though...

Ken is too scared to drop the bigger names who are seriously out of form. Ken is too scared to bring in the kids who have shown strong, consistent, form in the magpies.

So what does Ken do? He drops the usual fringe players in exchange for the other usual fringe players.

All Ken wants this year is to keep his job. If you want your job you need to practice what you preach, be brave and be bold.

This is true. He's digging in. It's a psychological condition that when presented with facts which undermine a position a person doggedly held that they will dig in even deeper.

Same with butcher last year. We had Ryder, lobbe, Howard AND Dixon out, and he still wouldn't play butcher. He gets a game, kicks 4 and is dropped. Ken is just arrogant and can't risk being proven wrong.

Eddy is clearly finished. Never to play. I have no idea why we even drafted him we don't play the "break glass in case of emergency" obvious players. Now Howard gets this. The day after the "abomination at Jihad".

He was well ahead of the 12 month knee rehab and has played some odd positions in the SANFL. I can only assume that the club wants to hit the magical 12 month mark.
