We don't need to play 3 key backs against Brisbane - Grimes out.
Need to work out who goes to Clark - I think it's McGuane. He stays.
Grimes was playing the Batchelor role for the majority this week, and giving Rance and Macca the chop out. I don't like it - you pick two blokes for the job - they do it. Batch plays that third tall role with a lot more class and poise than Grimes does it with.
Thought Nason had little impact on the game, but he's not used to playing that deep forward. He'll get better - but play him as the sub - Tucky to start.
Jackson will be rubbed out, Tuck starts in his place, and Webberley in.

unbelievable post. grimes was easily our most effective tall defender.
mcguane was deplorable and in all honesty we should not be accepting such rubbish performances. rance was not much better.
brisbane will play both clarke and cornelius forward. they will play the two big ruckmen in mccauley and leunenberger and leuenberger will spend plenty of time forward. kicked 4 points against stkilda hes likely to kick 4 goals against us.
good sides dont stuff around with their structures just because a side may be a bit shorter or a bit taller whatever the case.they make it a strength.
if sides learn from what happened against north they will be likely to bring in an extra tall and just bomb long.the way mcguane and rance were towelled up in the air against north it is likely.
thank god j brown is not playing. we would have diabolical problems, brown clark and cornelius. instead its clark cornelius and leuenberger spending significant time forward.
as for the rest of their structure they have a monster and deceptively quick fb in merrett who id give an arm to have at richmond and a promising chb in collier patful is the other tall defender.
and of course they go with two ruckmen in mccauley and leuenberger.
i could make 4 or 5 changes again this week despite the win. i wonder how many changes people would be calling for if we had lost and we went close to losing again.

Grimes was fantastic, we'd be mad to drop him as he has stood up against some quality opposition over the last few weeks and has far from disgraced himself, unlike mcguane! Also, he is second in the AFL for 1%ers with 40 from 3 games!!!
See, I don't agree. I get jittery when he has the ball
Of the three talls we played in defense last night, he was easily the most composed when he got the ball, he has great closing speed and he was or a good part the only defender that used his brain , he also kicks better than the other two. McGuane and Rance where both towled by Petrie .. yet they continued to try to body up and not change tactics to suite the game and the umpiring. Jack Grimes has a great football brain and this kid does too, must get games into him and another 5-10 kilo's in the next 2 years.
Grimes is too small to take a key forward so there's not much point leaving him in the lineup against Brisbane.
I agree on Bachelor 100% , by to small you mean weight wise right ? He is taller than Mcguane and 1 cm shorter than Rance.
McGuane and Rance play the same style of Game , unless Astbury has a blinder my bet is we will take all three in again next week.
Loving the energy on the Lions board, they honestly think they have a chance, in fact, most of them say they should win - comfortably.![]()

Anyone know why Webberly was pulled out of the Coburg match just before it started?
Anyone thinking McGuane will be dropped is kidding themselves.
