Now now, let's not give the opposition twolls anything to twoll about

Uh-oh

I was hoping the Collingwood game was a once-off. Guess we're going to get murdered this week as well.
Let's hope the emergency umpire has been elevated off the rookie list to replace Chamberlain (oversized head has causing spinal compression injuries - they are not sure he will get up). Any game an umpire thinks the game is about him turns ... f$&king campaigner.

Hey dude, my dealer got raided, do you know where I could score?

Yep, I have a bottle of Robitussin here with your name on it. Primo gear. I necked the whole bottle a few hours ago and soon after suddenly realised why Selwood has been getting a game - chemtrails. That's all I am going to say*.

I'm happy it was one change ...upsets the team chemistry the least I think ....

Told you Selwood would not get dropped, he's our version of a protected species...

David Attenborough on the selection of Scott Selwood/ West Coast MC

“It seems to me that the Selwood is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”
David Attenborough

Good chance to take Selwood out of the starting 21 and test Hutchings against a bigger bodied Sydney midfield here.

Not surprised to see only 1 change however I would have loved Butler to be fit as well. Good luck to Tom Barrass, good story of perseverance after missing a lot of 2014 though injury and starting the 2015 with East Perth 2's. Got a debut early at East Perth and has continually showed his improvement since to the point where he was well in the mix for AFL selection already a few rounds back.

Part of me hopes Barrass spends some time on Franklin to test him against one of the best but Schofield IMO is the best match up. Physcially and athletically as well because Buddy likes to work up the ground and push high. Interesting to see if the Swans use him out of FF or CHF without Tiprat.

Probably being backed in to find form until finals.

Still hasn't found any, don't know how long Simpson will persist? According to RE Simpson loves Selwood.

He obviously does, but hes walking in dangerous territory here, it has to be the same rule for every player on the list, and his form does not warrant his spot at the moment. Should be in the WAFL gaining touch, and skills.

These are the things I find most confusing/unable to process in life -

1. Scott Selwood continuing to get picked each week
2. Why Donald Trump is currently leading the presidential nomination for the Republican Party
3. Why people continue to believe in homeopathy
4. Why my dog thinks cat poo is a delicacy

In that order.

I don't expect my BF friends to be able to answer 2-4 but hoping you can lend some assistance with 1)

looks like Bennell and McInnes are playing for EP. So I guess only late change is now going to be Newman for Hill

The answer to all four is people and your dog are operating on reputation.

Im starting to think my dog is so furious that a cat took a dump on his territory he has to eat it to get rid of it.

My dog is happy to get her feline faecal fix from any territory, either enemy, neutral or home ground. She prides herself on being faecally agnostic in this regard.

Fun fact - just looked up "off topic" in my thesaurus and it says "Discussing cat sh*t in an Eagles match preview thread"

Only a squad at present but the MC need to decide whether they want to blood Barrass to cover McGovern for his period out or is it purely to get by for the week. If it was just picking for this week and with the Sydney tall brigade being depleted, then we could potentially get away with not having either Barrass or McInnes in the team. It is important to know what our options are coming up to a finals run and I would much rather test out Barrass against Sydney this week (no Reed or Tippett in attack) than in the finals when their team is taller.

What will the Swans forward line look like? With both Richards (192) and Tippett (201) out, it is really interesting. I think Reed (196 cm) will need to go back to cover as Grundy (192) is not the right match up for Kennedy (196). Xavier Richards (196) on debut against our KPF leading who the Coleman? That feels like a step too far. Rampe (188) is their next tall and the rest are under 183 cm. So the Sydney tall forward line of last week suddenly looks small minus Tippett and Reed

Schofield on Buddy is a no brainer. Either Barrass or McInnes on Buddy and he will have a field day. Goodes (191) is more than adequate to take on the second KPF and could be covered by Barrass (194+) with Rosa (191) or Sheppard (188) if needed. Pyke (201) has also spent time in the past up front and is a really strong mark (though he suffers in conversion like Sinclair). I recall Pyke leading the stats in 2014 for contested marks and I expect Nankervis (199) play and they and spend some time resting in the forward line. Pyke coming back as the single tall against NicNat and Sinclair - high risk.

Sinclair had one of his best games last week but he is impotent in front of goals. If that continues, I would like to see McInnes as the second ruckman and resting in the forward line. He has been doing it at EP and been in good form. Sinclair has trouble making the distance from outside 40 metres and even shanks them from dead in front. Until Lycett gets fit and in form, I get scared with Selwood, Sheed and Sinclair in our forward line. Great grunt but they collectively fail to impact the scoreboard on a weekly basis.

Looking forward to the cat and mouse of Simpson and Horse at the selection table.

I think Reid must / will play forward. Swans need to kick a winning score a a decent one with our goal kicking power.

Grundy to take Kennedy, Rampie on Darling as he seems to have more trouble with shorter opponents who can stick with him. X Richards is there to cover our resting ruck so yes Sinclair will be important and will NN (as always).

That then leaves Franklin, Goods, Reid and the Swans resting ruck to defend. I'd put Sheppard on Goodes and Barrass on their ruck with Yeo/Rosa rotating on Reid and on ball. Schofield on Buddy but not when he runs up the ground. The Web will cover those talls and we just need massive pressure on the Swans midfield to create poor quality supply.

I'm putting faith in Wellingham to destroy his old car crashing mate when he runs up the ground ala the North Melbourne game this year.
