I'm not even going to melt. This club has really lost the plot. There is no accountability from the selection committee with players woefully out of form being given gold passes. What the hell has happened for us to become like this.

Even his most ardent advocates acknowledge his shoddy kicking technique never improved to a point where he was reliably pickable, but then we're continuing to carry a 200-gamer with perfectly good footskills who has the mental strength of Ian Baker-Finch and has cost us games more than once.

And then you look at Butcher's performance against the admittedly shithouse Lions last year and think, he is capable of seriously dominant performances like this when given the chance. What could he have achieved with natural development and a bit of faith and confidence? If Ken was jack of him - and it seemed he made that decision by early 2014 - why on earth didn't we trade him while he still had tangible value? As with a handful of others we just let his career bleed out. Didn't back him, didn't trade him.

Best case scenario, with his big tank, tireless running and contested marking ability he could've been Josh Jenkins with testicles. Worst case? We flip him to the likes of Carlton or North for a 3rd rounder. What's that? We did neither? C'est la vie.

As for Eddy, he deserves a chance on form, otherwise why pick him up as a 27yo rookie in the first place? He wasn't terrible in his first three games and looked perfectly capable on the ball. I for one am still enamoured with his turn and titfinder for SPP's mark and long goal against the Swans.

Could it be? An actual linking play by a tall via conventional means?

Ken loves White. He loves White enough that he called him up on the back of a 6 disposal SANFL game. If he looked remotely like an AFL footballer today he was going to retain his spot. Not only has he looked remotely like an AFL footballer, he's actually been pretty damn good.

at this stage i wouldnt be taking White out.

Polec into wing, White to high half forward and take Young out.

Talking selections would also be looking at S.Gray (maybe unlucky but don't think he is doing quite enough, especially goals wise) and defiantly Neade, poor skills, poor decisions and one easy goal isn't enough to stay in
