Matt White, Aaron Young, Jake Neade, Sam Gray... Hinkley is in contract survival mode so will continue going back to this particular well, to the detriment of us all.

This is the bit I don't get. They've given him not a lot for years. He knows they're not going to win games for him, so why not put some substance to the rhetoric and give some kids a decent chance to replace them? I can't remember being as frustrated at the football as I have been watching our midfield trying to put it on the head of a Neade/S Gray/Young/Impey up forward.

Of those you mention Bonner is the only one I believe would be a winger, and unless he has dramatically improved his disposal since preseason I understand why he hasn't been picked. AJ and Krak I would also give a go there but alas they have been hampered by injury. I could certainly see Palmer coming in for a Young or a Boak but given we won by 40 points that was never going to happen

I think this is too short sighted. Nobody in our 2s is going to be able to replace Polec, so we're going to have to lessen our reliance on that role. Drew, Bonner and Palmer are all capable of playing on the wing, and their recent form suggest they'd be able to do so better than White.

There's nothing to suggest Monfries would be in instead of White if he was available, and even if he was, it's still an unbalanced team.

It's not about Monfries vs White for a spot in the team, it's about the contradictions when explaining why someone is picked/not picked.

Both Monfries and White have had a year off football. Only one was due to injury. It wasn't Gus.

It's all moot now due to Monfries recent injury but it is still very frustrating.

Hard to justify like for like changes when we have players already out of position.

Shuffling a couple around and bringing in a player who has earnt a call up is obviously too much to ask.

I know he doesn't get hard ball but I don't think that is an issue for us as we have plenty of players who can do that plus him being around those players would surely help that part of his game.

Hinkley is definitely not a Ross Lyon. When Freo were obliterated by Port Lyon made 6 changes including 2 debutants. Nearly all of these paid off and Freo went from 0-2 to 6-3. Hinkley only makes minimal unforced changes and is being excessively conservative with his changes.

I personally love to see new guys being given a go, but understand too that I am not privy to training sessions to see how players are performing there. Also blaming Ken is fallacious, because we should all know that the decisions made are joint ones involving all senior coaches. They were appointed to do their job ... let them do their job! As for White in ... I mean lets be honest, it wont affect the outcome on Saturday one iota. We need speed on that wing, and White has that. I am sure he will bring a much better performance than he did against GWS. As a senior player I am happy for him him to be dignified with another chance. Fail, and it should be curtains on his career IMO. The young guys have their full careers ahead of them yet, and will get many other chances this year.

Besides the obvious Barry Crockers, odd selections & no-selections just dont bother me at all. My opinion (and other people's) is not worth crap! They are all Port Adelaide Players, and once selected, are "my" team. And I will fully back them to win.

Now lets back "our" team, and smash them Pies ...

I have been pretty supportive of the changes but Matt White is a bit disappointing. He hasn't been in great form and more importantly he is likely to injure himself in the first five seconds of the game making us down on rotations. I'm pretty confident of a win and Matt White can play a role...it's just the risk of re-injury is too high. I'd prefer to see Bonner or Palmer get a game, but Palmer and Eddy seem to have a cross through their names. Anyway, i'm looking forward to getting to the G and seeing a solid Port win.

Although it came in the wrong order, White is a wingman so direct swap for Polec, Pittard is a HBF so direct swap for Broady.

Although the non selection of Eddy jacks me off, in what is probably going to be a cold and wet day, it is not ridiculous keeping him out of the side.

Eddy non selection is a farce.... I mean Ken used to pick bloody Butcher, but wont pick someone who can actually kick goals.
