Unofficial Preview Changes vs GWS

Ah, there you go! 2.30 pm here, FWIW!

I'm looking forward to it, and am probably more enthused about watching the earlier game and seeing how our young prospects look rather than watching the main game (but hoping for two wins).
It might take some time for the AFL boys to cohese with the VFL boys as they don't train together.
I hope the VFL boys are being trained with the same system.

I wouldn't pick West this week, and I just doubt that the club will either. I still want to see him kicking goals in a VFL game or two this year before we consider playing him, but also really want to see Buller come good, as it will be a bit of a setback if he doesn't measure up. I think if Membrey ends up going out of the side (at some stage) that won't be the end of the world, but Buller and McStay performing well enough is important.
I totally get that angle and giving them all another shot will no doubt be a strong consideration. My only concern around backing guys in is that the season can drift quickly if we drop too many of these upcoming 50/50 or 40/60 games. Realistically drop all 3 and it’s hard to see where the wins are coming from outside of Carlton and Essendon until the mid point of the season.

There’s clearly also risk in going early on West so I’m not advocating one way or the other, but I don’t think we’ll get punished for West>Membrey as hard as we would through the status quo continuing. Tough week at the selection table regardless and given how GWS will approach this one a strong argument could be made for going smaller with Hayes/ HH/ Sullivan over West to negate their run off HB.

hard to do that when he hasnt played since ballarat and they made him the carry over emg for the crows game.

A week break in between vfl practice games didn't help. This is not his fault though, so not much he could have done.

They do. They do the same drills at training.
Same game plan. Been like this for a number of years.

Absolutely not his fault, but it's the reason why I don't think he'll be playing seniors this week. Arguably having him as the carry over emergency for the Adelaide game did him no favours at all.

Bringing him straight into the team for Friday night just doesn't seem like the kind of move McRae would make, and would be at odds with his "setting people up to succeed" idea.

I agree, it likely wont happen. But hopefully wont be too long before we do see him on the big stage again. And not sure we need him to play his second game at marvel the same place he did his foot injury last year.

Are you bringing in Steene or Sullivan? I'm guessing you meant to have Steene named on the bench.

Could. Unless they think their seasons on the line. Which apparently ours is , i cant see how they risk three players at once, especially two with hamstring concerns
There is zero chance they’ll risk Daniels after his injury run lately. Save him until after the bye next week.

The injury-hit Giants are hoping Aaron Cadman (pelvis), Brent Daniels (hamstring) and Toby Bedford (hamstring) could return for the clash at Marvel Stadium.

However, they will be without defender Jack Buckley after he suffered a concussion late in their loss to St Kilda.

"I think Bedford is on track to return. He's had a strong fortnight training so I would expect him," GWS coach Adam Kingsley told Fox Footy.

"Daniels is every chance, as is Aaron Cadman so we'll assess those as they get later on in the week, probably Wednesday night, maybe Thursday morning, but hopeful."

Seeing us at full strength and GWS with so many injuries makes me sooooo much more nervous about this game lol

Especially at Marvel

I actually Tipped GWS
